The Pill and sex drive.... (may be TMI)

I'm on Levlen ED and my sex drive (which, I'll admit, was always very very high. DP was a very lucky man, lol) has plumeted and I'm just not that in to DTD.
I had a dull patch in my pregnancy where the thought of DTD made me want to vomit, but that was only a few weeks. As soon as DD popped out my sex drive was back with a vengence.

I'm not sure if its because I opted to "skip" a period, as we were going away and I didn't want to get my period in the car to Melbourne or sometime in Melbourne.

Sex is a drag. Once we're DTD its heaps of fun. But the thought of foreplay makes me feel drowsy.

I've been on the Pill for around 3 months now.

Any ideas? Is it the Pill, or just me??

Could be either or both. You've been through alot and you're dealing with a lot now, so that may be stealing all your energy. You may be depressed, which is a great one for stealing the libido.

but the Pill can do it too. It's a great one for rearranging your hormones, so i found reduced libido and very changable moods on it. I wont go back on it anymore. It was causing so many problems on an emotional level.

The OCP has always completely and utterly zapped my already fairly low libido into complete and utter non-existence. Every single time I take it. The longer I'm on it, the worse it seems to get.

But, I have finally found one that doesn't. Yaz. Pretty damned expensive ($70 for 3 months!), but in my mind it's worth it for the difference it makes to my mood. The OCP also tends to cause my depression to get worse. Yaz doesn't. I'm a different woman on it.

Levlen was one of the ones we tried while going through IVF to see if we could actually find one that didn't cause me to bleed constantly on active tablets (13 years of no issues at all, and then a year off and that - every time - ugh!) and I do recall that it had the most negative effect on my libido of all the ones I'd tried. It would certainly be worth talking to your doctor and perhaps switching to a different one.

I had a fairly high sex drive before I started levlen ED and then it was practically non existent, talk to your dr about it, they should be able to prescribe another that helps with you libido
