    average cost of playgroup sessions?

I've found out about my two local playgroups (outside of the metro area of Adelaide). One is only about 6ks away, and is $30 and the other is over 10 ks away but is only $4. It doesn't specify - but do you think this is the cost per session or per term period? With such a discrepancy in these costs it's hard to work out if that's a term cost?

I live on a quiet farm property and so am keen to start a playgroup quite soon after my baby is born - even just to meet other local families.

I'm guessing the cost difference would mean that the higher priced playgroup may have more resources/activities - it's based at a preschool whereas the other one is at a local hall. I suppose I could try both - but just as a benchmark I was wondering what the average cost of playgroup is?

    Cheers

Okay, I run a playgroup in Adelaide Metro and the cost of ours is $2 per session, but you then also have to pay an insurance fee to Playgroup SA which is approx $28 per year, or $18 per half year or $10 per term

I would be ringing back the $30 one and asking exactly if that covers the term, ie $3 per session for 10 weeks, or if Playgroup SA membership/insurance is included in that price.

The $4 one would be what you pay per session.

I go to two different playgroups in Melbourne. Both are $2 per session and are 2 hours. I've never paid any extra insurance or membership either.

Our playgroup is $4 per session but you can pay in blocks per term also.

With ours, you have to pay for the sessions you miss too (ie sick kids, away on holidays etc).

I'd say $30 would be for the term.

Our Playgroup is $30 per term which I think is great value given that the resources are great, the venue is gorgeous and the outdoor equipment has just been upgraded. It is extremely popular and numbers have to be limited for safety. I've been going for 3 years.
