Brisbane Southside Mothers' Groups??

Hi, I'm looking for a mothers' group on Brisbane's southside. I live at Greenslopes and have a 2 week old - Jack. Please let me know when/where you meet if you can squeeze another person in. Or, drop me a pm with contact details.

Hey!

I am on the southside in Logan.

I am very interested in a playgroup, I have 1 DD who has just turned 2.

I can travel and can give lifts to anyone if needed (I have room for 1 adult + 1 car seat).

Thanks Mel! It sucks how the community health centres will only put you in touch with first time mums for a mothers' group. I wonder if being first timer to a newborn in Qld would count for anything? What I'm trying to say is it'd be good to find a group of mums with babies the same age to hang out with and compare notes!

Where are the best places? I've been sussing out some joints at Garden City, and if you can grab an armchair at The Shingle Inn, that looks like the most comfortable!! Am wanting to stay out of the heat if possible.

hey mrsr I used to meet a group at Kuraby - you have posted on the thread I think but most of their bubs are older.

you can always drive up here to the sticks to play

i am due in april and am at wynnum.
would love to meet up when i have had our little boy. Also know some other young mums with bubs under 1.

What does everyone think of meeting at someone's house once a week on a rotational basis...everyone can bring a plate, that way all you'd really need to cart around is a rocker/bouncinet, nappy bag and baby?

We used to do that with the mums' group I had in Gosford and then when the kids were bigger, we'd go to a park or playcentre.

I know what a pain it is to have to rush off to a parents' room to feed or do a nappy change if you're at a shopping centre....food for thought there.

Mrsr...that's a great idea you can count me in for this . We also did this with our mum's group in Gosford !!!!

Only thing with me is it would have to be at my house the weeks my hubby is on day shift because when he is on nights he needs to sleep through the day.

I'll volunteer my house as soon as my Mum has gone back to the Uk which is the 24th Feb. I'm in Mackenzie which is close to Mnt Gravatt

Like i said i'm happy to have it at our house too but will have to be on a day DH is working day shift.
