I am a young mum (25) with two little ones (2yr & 1yr old) and we have recently moved to Brighton QLD and I'm looking for a playgroup or mother's group. If anyone is interested in meeting up or has info on groups in that area, I would love to hear from you.
I am in Shorncliffe with my first one due in May... I found your post when googling for mum's groups in the area! Please keep me posted with anything that you find and I will do the same!
What a coincidence!! I hope that you find a lovely place in Sandgate (shouldn't be too hard). We are in Brighton atm and only moved here in October. I absolutley love the area and could not pick a nicer place to live as a family. I regularly take the kids for a walk down along the bay, and they really enjoy it - especially watching the kite surfers when the tide is low.
Anyway, good luck with the house hunting. If you have any questions about the area, feel free to shoot them at me.
Hi, my husband and I live in Brighton also. My husband is the primary care for our 1yo and I'm due with our 2nd in May. We are looking for a parents group/play group so our 1yo can start interacting with other kids. We would love to get in contact with a few parents in the area to join/form a play group for our little ones so will keep an eye out on this thread to see if anyone finds anything. If there's enough of us, perhaps we can organise our own little meeting/get together?
There have been a couple of people respond to this post. so if a few more are interested in meeting up for a play date we can organise something down at a local park etc. I'll keep everyone posted.
Hi, I live on the northside of Brisbane (Albany Creek). I have a 1 year old son and am interested in joining a playgroup or mother's group. I work part time and am free on Mondays and Tuesdays.
I have a 9 week old baby boy who is my first, I am looking to meet some new people who have kids and who can chat to about kids stuff. I live at Everton Hills but happy to commute if anyone is organising anything.
Just updating....I am in Brisbane now. We got here late lastnight.
We are living in Banyo though so I don't know if I would still be classed as living in Sandgate or Brighton. I am still happy to come to some meets when things are planned.
I'm glad to hear that you arrived safely. I have been waiting for a couple more people to show interest before making arrangements for a first meet-up but would love for you to still be involved, even though you are in Banyo. At least you are close to uni! We had some orientation stuff at uni this last week, so if you need any info you can send me an email kahlea_rogers@hotmail.com or karoge002@student.acu.edu.au. If you want to meet up at some point tomorrow, send me an email and we can swap mobile numbers.
Any way, I'll keep everyone posted on the playgroup arrangements
I'm a mum to a 15 month old boy, and would love to join a playgroup. I live in Brighton, and was delighted to see that there was also some interest from a few other parents around the area. So if anything is organised, would you please let me know.
I think we have enough interest now to arrange a little group. I have just started uni and the best day/time for me is a Wednesday (any time) or Thursday morning, so If anyone would like to meet up next Wednesday (11 March) or Thursday (12 March) for a little while, please post a reply and we can organise it. If any one has a location in mind, that would also be really helpful.
Did a mother's group ever get off the ground for this group? If a group has already formed could you please let me know... otherwise If you are still keen to start an all-ages mother's group for the Sandgate/Brighton/Shorncliffe area please email me at sharon@epitis.com and I will try to organise something!
another one looking for a mothers/baby group in Sandgate area :-)
Hi,
well it´s my turn now! I live in Sandgate (QLD) just had my little baby girl (4 weeks old) and I really need to get out of the house and meet people.
Are there any groups/gatherings/etc. for mothers happening at the moment? Or is anyone interested in starting one up with me?
Cheers,
Anne
