That would be quite a way to travel
We've been lucky getting support through playgroup Qld and the Young Parents Program to start this group up. I'm sure there must be similar organisations in Victoria, it's just knowing where to start which is the hard part! To start up a regular playgroup I know you need at least 3 families, I'm not exactly sure the first steps that have to be taken to start up a supported playgroup as I was luckily offered the job. There may even be some supported playgroups in your area. It's worth a look Even if you rang Playgroup Victoria and asked whats on in your area and if there are any groups specifically for younger mums, I know it can be hard to go to playgroups when everyone is at least 10 years older then you!
Anyway good luck finding a place, its so important to get out and meet people, if only for your own sanity! LOL, oh and ofcourse for the kids

    Hi Nina,
the Young Producers is a supported playgroup that meets up every Monday morning at 25 Hooker St Windsor 10am-12pm. It's specifically for young mums up to 25 so you more then welcome to come along and check it out, I'm 24 also We ask the mums to bring a plate to share for morning tea.
There are indoor and outdoor spaces for kids to play, we have a mix of ages from baby up to preschool age. It's very casual and I'm always open to any new ideas mums may have to make the playgroup what they would like.
If there is anything else specific you'd like to know feel free to ask. Hope you can come along

    regards,
    Natasha

Her name is Shirley. I think she still works there anyway. It has been a little while since I spoke to her. I think the young parents group is a great idea.

    Hey Mel
There is parking on Hooker street as well as a little cul-de-sac just off it really close, can usually easily find a spot.
I agree public transport can be difficult with kids. I used to do it with my daughter all the time but my son is a different story all together
My phone is 0422 069 148. Will see you Monday

Should probably also let you know this coming Monday, 18th Aug, YPP (Young Parents Program) are having a drop-in from 11am-1pm which will overlap the playgroup. This just means some young mums from the YPP groups and recent graduates of the groups will be meeting up, just for a catch up and to check out the playgroup, a couple workers from YPP will be there also.
For us it means free pizza for lunch, yay, and hopefully some of them will want to continue coming to the playgroup I'm sure anyone at the playgroup is welcome to hang around til 1pm if they wish

    Hi Mel,

for the life of me I cannot work out how to send you a message and am just making myself feel more and more stupid so I'll just write it here!
Just wanted to say it was lovely meeting you on Monday and your little boy is just so gorgeous (I'm sure I don't have to tell you though! LOL). Am looking forward to seeing you again and getting to know you more.
And if at some point someone would like to let me know how to send messages to people would be nice Have already looked in the FAQ section and managed to make myself feel even more computer illiterate, or forum illiterate anyway!
