    Smile Starting a playgroup?

My mil was telling me the other day that when her son (dh) was little, and they had just moved in, she didn't know anybody, so she advertised to start a playgroup at her house. She suggested I start one as well, as ds doesn't have many friends, and nor do I! We recently moved about 40mins away from where we used to live, and I fell out of touch with my mothers group (and I was the youngest, felt out of place).

So I was thinking about it. I could put an ad on the local noticeboard and there is a flyer that comes around for our suburb - could put one in there. But I don't know what a play group does, or what I need to have... Do I need insurance if I make it at my house, what toys? Is there a toy library?

It's all just an idea atm. Any suggestions please let me know!!

I know in victoria there is playgroups victoria who you can get assistance to find a venue etc with toys allready eg church halls etc they also assist with setting up and you can pay a membership to them to cover insurance.

So maybe look on google for similar thing is QLD
