Quick Intro...Im Tanya (20) sahm with a DS (27 months) and DD (6 months) am looking forward to gettng to no you all!
I dont no if i can get to the meet on Friday i could get Russell to drive over with me, then drive my car home and get him to pck me up when finnished but i dont like any1 driving my car LoL :doh: but will see what happens!
AnnaT~ your kids go to Premiere hey? I use to work there! Dont no what staff are still there but the ones i worked with i would not leave my child with (only from seeing stuff first hand) but that was 16 months ago! Can i ask who the director is now? hope that comment doesnt cause bad blood :o
Jodi~ Strand Park is really nice :D i stayed there for my 17th Bday nice with great view, cant remember what it cost tho...wasnt cheap, but wasnt overly priced :)
Oh forgot to add im going for my P's next wendesday yay so hopefuly ill be way more mobile :D and my DS goes to Little Bo Peep privatly owned center isnt flash but the staff there are awesome and my mum is the director :)...they only take 15 months plus as its only a two room center

The Director is a lady in prob her late 20's maybe early 30's, er her name might be Sarah? Im hopeless with remembering names so I only know the boys Room Leaders by face lol I havent seen anything to make me think they dont take good care of the boys but they only go for 5 or 6hrs once a week. Im considering putting them both in private school affiliated daycare next year like the ones run by the Catholic schools.
I usually drop the boys off at care by 10ish so I might be a tiny bit late so save me a seat :)

Anna~ yes i no Sarah just before i left there she was the group leader in the pre-school room i was her assistance she is quiet nice and good at her job. i think the girls i had problems with no longer worked there! I worked there for about 10 months b4 having DS then went back when he was one for a couple more months until **** hit the fan very long story but my mum was the director there for a long time and some girls had it in for her and caused big problems and with in a week 5 staff members walked (including me and mum) and they went from a 5 center room to a two...but that was over 12 months ago now! and i here they have done alot off renovations!
Anyway LoL
Ladies i wont be able to make Fridays meet darn, but im off to Cairns me and DP (ex) are working at things (im a sucker for punishment) anyway he suggested that me him and the kids go to Cairns for the weekend so we leave Friday and come home Monday how nice :D
I would love to Sara but I havent the foggiest idea how to find them and Ive been a slacker with my study lately :redface: Im starting to wonder if I made the right choice becoming a doula because I cant see how there are enough women to be clients for 5+ doula's in Townsville.

There are plenty of women! Unfortunetely, not many women in Townsville have heard of Doula's. Nearly every person I meet and tell them what I do looks at me weird when I say the word "Doula". But once they realise what it is I do, they think its a great thing.
At the moment there are only 2 of us who are actively taking on clients. The other 3 are either TTC themselves or are busy raising their own families. They are available as back-up Doula's though.
Well I guess at the moment you should just focus on yourself. The birth of your next baby should solidify whether you want to be a Birth Worker or not. Enjoy your pregnancy while it last hun.
I never knew what a Doula was until i meet Sarah LoL, do use actually work for the hospitals or for urselfs? And only get jobs when some1 calls you?
I would love to go to uni and do midwifery :D i think it would be such an amazing job....but i dont even no were to start!
Sara and Anna, Maybe you should approach Babies Galore, Bay Bee Cino and Lollipos to see if you can put up advertising in the windows or something. Then your target Audience will see them.

God it feels like forever since Ive been on here! How is everyone????
Court - sorry about adams crying. I have no idea what could be wrong but I hope you sort it soon. Nothing a trip to the Gp wont fix. They'd point you in the right direction.
We have been so busy. Ive cleaned out our house and filled our big trailer full of crap plus all the extra that went into the bins and good will bins. I can see the walls of our garage! We sold my beloved VE commodore so it's a relief to know we dont have to worry about that when we move. Elise, the island is just serene. Amazing and I think it will be hard to be stressed out there for long. With shopping..... there is none! theres a small retrovison but thats it, everything we want including good food gets ordered from darwin and comes in on a barge! sounds hard but way cool!! im going to embrace a island life so much! i just cant wait.. still looks like 5th of jan is bens start date so i guess we'll be leaving here around new years.
twins are goin great, crawling climbing and getting lots of teeth! its fun chasing them now and they are easily entertained so im finding my days are getting easier. they are 1 in just over 2wks, i cant believe i made it or better yet they made it hahaha... all but a blur i have to admit. and we leave for sa for 5-6wks in 4..i just cant wait to be home with my family and mates again, being here has made me feel like i really dont have friends but i do they are just 3000+ kms away!!
welp better go, ben flew out today and i need to start some sort of routine, im spewing school is back, i love holidays coz i didnt have to run around!! maybe ill keep them home a week longer:lol:

Yep Im all good Sara, already seen my midwife once and see her again on Tuesday :) She's awesome and lives out here at Bushy Beach which is handy with my labours :lol: Cant wait til the centre is actually built though so I can take a peek!
OK. I need a good, friendly GP. Now. I have been to Health Link on Ross River rd and wasnt particularly impressed. I want a doctor that I can relate to, that respects me and my wishes, and doesnt treat me like another number. This is what my old GP was like and I am sad not to be able to go to her any more. I prefer female GPs. I want to make an appointment for tomorrow afternoon!! Anyone got tips?
Anna, how did you have to book into BC, did the GP give you the info when confirming the pg?
I go to Annandale Medical Centre. My GP is Dr Michelle (can't pronounce or spell her last name) and she is amazing. There are a couple of female of GPs at this clinic.
Ali - the docs on Ross River Road is more for emergency use for when you can't get into your normal GP or you are strapped for cash. I don't particularly like going there at all, the waiting times are excruiting and the doctors are too quick, too speedy, too fast to even listen or diagose something bigger, they just want to get you out and prescribed some drugs.
I go to Uni-health at the hospital, they have several female doctors and they are fantastic up there. I see Anita Lowe or Prassani .... or there is another elder lady too. Anita is the most awesome doctor I have ever been to. I have been seeing her for about 4 years now.

Hi Girls thank you for your warm welcomes! Just thought Id pop back in and say hi. Im afraid Im not much help in the Doctor / childcare dept as we have a great doc in Bushy Beach Fiona Smith shes so lovely. And my daughther Indiana (almost 3) goes to the Bushy beach Childcare centre that opened here in April and so far its been great no problems there. Although im very keen on getting Indi enrolled in a Montessori school... Ive also only ever stayed one place in town which was Marniers North AWESOME PLACE view is amazing, we stayed there for 2 weeks when we first got to town, while our house settled. So so far we have been here a year and have absolutely loved it. People here are so friendly and welcoming. I look forward to getting out and about and getting to meet you all! Only 39 days until our next angel is born not that im counting but everyone keeps telling me how huge i am!!

Rach - Ohhh 39 days to go! How exciting?!?!? You would'nt be interested in having a Doula support you free of charge would you?? I am currently studying and only need 1 more birth to certify and at the moment I dont have any clients due until Boxing Day. PM me if you are intersted. Oh and BTW - I am pretty sure there is currently 1 Montessori school open in Townsville. I even saw the number in the phone book the other day?
RE: GP's - I go to Uni Health now but did'nt while I was pregnant with either of the girls. I see Prasani Katheeson aswell and she is great! I forgot to remind you of that yesterday Ali. Not sure of costs thought cause its free for Uni students.

I havnt been on for awhile..it was a mission trying to read through the old posts.
PrincessRach the new Montessori School is not opening up now because they couldnt get the right building to use, there is already a Montessori School in Townsville called the Little Montessori School there is a year waiting list so enrol now....they dont have government funding like the new one was going to have and I think its $11 per hour.
AnnaT were you meaning the Montessori school at Rupertswood?? because that is closing down at the end of this year..I rang there first when I was making my initial enquiries into Montessori.
Zander goes to Bo Peep Day Care in North Ward one day a week.....he seems to like it although he is going through major seperation anxiety at the moment when I drop him off. He is also very sick at the moment with Tonsilitis...his last temp reading was 39.5degs so Im worrying untill he starts getting better..he is on antibiotics/panadol and im trying to get fluids into him but he isnt into it........Wyatt has 4 teeth now and is fully crawling and standing up on furniture and is sleeping through...nearly.
Hopefully we will make it to a meeting in the near future...bye for now

Firstly what is a montessari school and what is the big deal??? Im from sa ( bush really) and never heard of it before.
Cant help out with gps either, i go to the gp at bushy beach and also love them, i usually see jai jinku. So hey rach how are you?? Im from bushy beach aswell!! My twins were going to the child care center and i loved it there, they dont go anymore as we go away for 6wks in 4wks and then move to a island soon after we get back so wasnt worth it anymore. If you want to catch up somewhere local let me know! im bored most days these days!

Ali- for dr I love our GP at Quacks on Bamford lane! they are a little tricky to get into but worth it, a great team and SOOOOO fantastic with kids. Once you are a patient there they will squeeze you in if kids are really sick. Not sure if they are accepting new patients now but I just kept ringing asking for an appointment and eventually got in.
Daycare - Ari's is in Annandale just off the ring road near the army barracks. they are cloth friendly and I quite like them. Out of all the daycares we checked out it was the only one I was happy with but I have heard good things about a few up that way will ask around for you.
Places to stay - I love the Mecure inn, nice swimming pool and restruant was lovely we have also stayed at AAA apartments on the Strand (before we moved here) wans't flashy but nice position

I had a great weekend in Cairns we did not do a great deal just bumed around and ate out, we stayed at coconut caravan resort and they have two pools, a huge play ground and two bouncy pillows plus heaps more so we just stayed at the park pretty much! Love that place so darn nice :dance:..
Nicola~ Our sons go to the same center :p and are in the same room, spun out lol, the director Chris is actauly my mum..

Tanya its a small world!!! I dont know any of the kids that are in Zanders toddler room as he only goes 1 day a week...I drop him off and leave and lately its been drop and run!! I have met your mum a few times. He is getting better now so will probably go tomorrow...Does Xavier go everyday??
Ok then fair enough, sometimes drop and run is the best way, he only goes two days a week its only for a social thing for him....and a chance for me to do stuff lol

Just thought I would jump on and say hi again. Havent been on here for a while. Hope everyone is well. Unfortunately I dont get to come to the friday meets cause I dont have a car that day, its such a buggar really. Ill just have to keep chatting with you all on here. We are good. DS is crawling and its soooo cute. He is really clumsy and keeps falling over and if he crawls over to something that is in his way he puts his head on the ground and screams til i move it (that part is not so cute :D) DD is well into the terrible twos and is driving me nuts. Have just booked her into another day of childcare cause that seems to be the only day of the week she is happy...go figure...guess she doesnt think I do a good enough job of entertaining her...Obviously I pale in comparison to Dora hahahahahahaha. Anyway hope you are all good, will chat soon.

Im pretty flat out on friday for most of the day so prob wont be able to make a meet. I have a long-overdue dentist appointment for a cracked tooth among other things.
Friday sounds good to me! Get my ferals out of the house so they arent whingeing all day! I need to go to babies galore afterwards and get a belly belt and decide whether to wait till after my scan as to when to put the capsule(s) on layby.
