Kirreia - I'm a SAHM, Student Midwife and I also work 2 late shifts per week at the hospital - I'm at Annandale, which is over near Lavarack baracks on the river.

    Morning girls!

Well I am a tad pi$$ed at the BOM thismorning. They got it so wrong! I hope everyone was prepared in Mission Beach! I don't even think they were in the warning area.

Its like a cyclone up the range today anyways. Our driveway is nearly all washed away. So we can only drive the 4WD up it now. Its going to be LOTS of fun ferrying all the furniture up to the removal truck on friday! Fingers crossed the rains gone.

Well I am happy to have it at Kellie's if she is happy to have us!! Ratbags and all!

Kellie if your happy for that to go ahead, PM you address to us and a time.

Kellie: It would be great to meet on Wednesday, though I have to work and can only make meeting on weekends. I would love to come another time though!!!

I thought I was the only mum going the nine yards (and probably getting in a little over my own head) to do some studies as well. Its so great to see there are somany other people around town doing the same thing...

Do you all going crazy when the weather is as it is of late?? I am for sure, and as am not lucky enough to spend all of my time with Huricane D & B, I would almost be pulling my hair out trying to ammuse them if I was!!!

Sara: WHere ar eyou going and when will you be back? Moving is never the most enjoyable experience, particularly not in the rain. And something always gets broken-always. The more help the better I say.

Well, as you can see, wrk is very dismall this morning...

Anna: I do admin and recruitment in town. And unfotunatley it is very quiet. My boss has been great though. I have a re-sit for an exam on Friday and he has been letting me study on copany time *shhhh* dn't tell anyone

my DH works in the mines and is away every other week. WHile he is away his mother kndly looks after Hurricane D & B and when he is bac he gets the oppertunity to.

And yes... The days trudge along sometimes don't they.. Congratulations on the upcoming 3rd addition toyour family. We are considering a 3rd, but not sure if I want to atm with the current economy as it is. That's a little selfish isn't it...

Not selfish, smart We are lucky that my Dh is in the military so job security and a steady salary are what keeps us afloat. I cant imagine not having that assurance, I worry enough as it is now! We never intended on having 3, we actually struggled to conceive #1 and then #2 was a fertility treatment baby so anything more than that was a bonus. Then we had #2 and after the horrid pregnancy I had said done and dusted. But then I got clucky and felt like I wasnt done so talked Dh into just one more (even though Ive always wanted 4+) and got surprised by this little miracle on our move up here! Some days I think Im a bit mad with 3 under 2.5 but for the most part its fun! Time flies. We're definately dont though, I want to study nursing (well midwifery but if we stay here nursing it is for the time being) and get 'me' back if that makes sense. I feel like Ive been pregnant and feeding for so long my poor body needs a break That and Dh feels very neglected haha Happy mama = happy family so Im hanging up my pregnancy panties when bub is born and will be content to help deliver other people's when the time comes.

Oh and Im getting a neice of nephew in July so more baby-ing without actually having to take it home with me

Anna: I think my DH is cluckier than me. I am happy with two as I am not sure I can handle more than that, but he would love to have a whole football team. Although I think he loves the act of making babies even more than actually having them.

Is it nice at Bushland Beach? I have only ever been out there once before, as we usually only go as far as derragun. My MIL lives in Deeragun so have no real need to go further unfortunately. Do you feel isolated at all out there?

Just listening to the radio news: THey think the extrpoical cyclone will most likely re-form on its way out to see. The weather is just unreal..

Can I ask everyones honest opinion? My son wants to start a sport and he liked watching the tennis.. DO you think he is too young (4.5) to start playing and learning? Nothing full-on. My family seems to think so, but I am putting him and his Ds into little athelietics in July so maybe not? THe just need some other interaction with other kids.

Ah my Dh is the complete opposite, he would have been happy to stop at 1 or 2 lol

It is nice out here, quiet and out of the way. For the last 2yrs we've lived outside of town (when we were in Victoria) so I dont know what we'd do if we lived in town. We were originally supposed to be in Kirwan but our move got pushed back so we had to give that house up. Then this one became available before our move so we took it sight unseen. Luckily enough its a brand new 4 bedroom, the nicest house we've lived in so far and its just big enough for the 5 of us and all our stuff. Itll be the one thing I miss most about being here if the Army moves us in July. I dont really feel isolated because I drive (although it took me forever to get my licence ha) and we have to have 2 cars for Dhs job (he travels to different workplaces atm) so I just hop in the car and cruise around town if I get bored. A sanity saver I assure you, if I didnt drive Id probably hate it out here as I feel bad asking people to come all this way to see me.

I dont think your son is too young for a sport, not sure what the age limit is on tennis lessons, I know alot of sports ask the child to be 3 or over before starting. Ring around and see if there are any tennis coaches giving lessons! I cant wait til my boys are old enough to do sport, its very important to Dh and I that they get some physical activity in outside of school and what we do with them. I danced up until I got married and my Dh always wished his parents had let him play football. Go for it!

We are moving to Brisbane for me to do Bach of Midwifery.

We will be back in 3 years or so. The course runs for 3 years so depending on how much we like it while we are down there, we will be back in 2012.

So who's coming on Wednesday? The girls and I will def be there.

Hey All!! This rain is driving me nuts!! I just drove home from work at 80km/hr on highway cause it was raining so hard!! Got to bushy Beach turn off and there was a big accident at the lights. Is horrid this weather!!

Sara - Good Luck with your bach midi. When I did my nursing, I always intended doing my midi, but have never got the urge to go back to uni and do it yet!!!
Kellie - you are a brave woman!!! Thanks for the offer of your home for a get togther - sounds great!! You sound very busy with work and your 4!!!
Kirriera - welcome!! Must be hard with your DH away at the mines so much. I am not allowed a 4th because we can't afford it either. I have 2 at school, and only work part time so I can do the whole school/sport duties!! My little one is a handful though, he is almost equal to 2 kiddies!!!
Anyway, think I better head to bed. The rain is coming down so hard I better turn the baby monitor up tonight or I won't hear my little man!!! I so need a dryer!!!! Might check out the good guys tomorrow!!! Need to do a few extra shifts to buy one!!!

Shellbelle: Did you see the good guys about a dryer??? i went yesterday and they are all sold out!!! There is a second hand applicance store in Hyde park that might have one though... I think everyone has the same idea. I wish I had one, at the moment I am washing every day so i can air dry them (not that that is really working either).

my DH rang me today worried that i wouldn't be able to pick him up from the aiport tonight. lol. he can be so cute sometimes.

If I am not at work tomorrow I would love to come and meet everyone...

I think I need to invest in an umbrella. Got soaked from the car to the supermarket door at the Mt Louisa corner shops!! Grrr.

Do you have everything you need there Anna? or would you be needing groceries or anything while the highway is flooded? If it could be a while, you are welcome to stay here.
