Townsville Mums #4

Hi Ladies,
I'm due to move to Townsville in about 6 weeks, I'm really excited by the prospect but at the same time a little scared, this will be my first move away from family and friends and we are coming from Perth so it's literally the other side of the country so I was hoping to get to know a few people before we came across! :)

I have a 3 y/o little boy Xander who is one of these zero to 10 in 2 seconds kind of kids. Lovable and energetic. He loves to hang around with other kids and up until we move will be in daycare (I work full time) but once we move I'll be at home with him and studying so I'm worried that he'll feel a little lonely.

Hi Andy Pandy, my name is shauna i have a 2.5yr old and 1.5yr old both boys, the eldest is a 0-10 in 2 seconds kind of kid too LOL!!
There are several groups that meet up on various days..we generally try to go with what ever suits the majority but also dont mind several meets in a week :)

Where abouts in perth are you from, i grew up sor. Have lived in Tsv on and off for 6 or more yrs due to DH work. It is so lovely here you will like it.

we are based in Armadale at the moment and so my partner has found us a house in bushland beach. I'm really looking forward to coming over, my son hasn't quite grasped the concept yet! :)

Andy Pandy, my mum lives in Kelmscott and my DH's grandparents in Armadale. Are you from Perth originally .. both myself and my DH are West aussies :) and one boy was born there and the other Qld.

Bushland Beach is lovely, only 5 mins up the road from Kirwan which is where i live. Have you been to Tsv before? Everything is pretty close to everything else.
My DH is defence but is deployed atm so i enjoy the catch ups with everyone.

Rachmac, i am so sorry i didnt see your post up there, i am currently in port macquarie nsw at the moment visiting the inlaws but when i return we should try organise a catch up. My boys go to daycare twice a week DS1 mon tue and DS2 tue wed..so any day is good for me really :)

Having my boys close together good hhhhmmmmmmmm sometimes yes but other times no, haha!! they are very trying both of them but we dont really live a normal life what with DH being away but such is life hey!!

I've been in Townsville a long time, but have always worked at least part time since having the boys, so apart from a couple of visits to playgroups I've never really got comfortable with a group of mums and their kids....thought it was about time, especially with another on the way! At the moment I am free Mondays & Tuesdays (except for a swimming lesson on Tues 9am) ?????

Oh wow congrats :) hoping for pink this time round?
Well i know of a few mums that usually catch up on a tuesday at maze mania, i dont usually do much tuesday as both kids are in care. As for mondays well we seems to keep changing what days to suit the majority haha, but am willing to work with anything to keep me and the boys busy :)
Will let you know if we plan anything asap.

I am free pretty much any day (Man I need some child care for the older 2, I am going nuts!!) and outings increase the good behaviour ;)

why hello ali i really should get your mobile number :) a few of the ladies i know from various places are catching up on thursday at rossiter park aitkenvale if any of you want to join!! Also for child care ali try the little zebra in condon they have been advertising...they took over the abc condon :)

i have a girl 2.5, and a boy, 5mths. my partner and i have abit of a hard time meeting people - :wall: but the little ones are so social - loves daycare for the othe kids more than anything. do u go to n e playgroups or anything around town?

I posted here in August saying that we were coming to Townsville for my partners job. We have finally arrived!! So far we are loving living here :clap:. The weather is glorious and we are finding the area to be beautiful, we love riverway and little crystal creek. We also love the fact that we have been trying to have another little one for a while now, we move here and suddenly we are expecting :dance:!! From some of the other people that we have talked to I'm thinking there must be something in the water!! But I would love to catch up with some other mums.

i there everyone, been looking for a townsville mum forum, well guess i found it.
i've lived hear for two years, have a ten yr old daughter, six yr old daughter and 3 yr old son and expecting in july....

my first question is have any of you used the townsille birthcentre sounds great but wanted some personal opinion.....

Im not in Townsville anymore but I had my last baby in March last year at the Birth Centre. It is so amazing and the midwives are fabulous caring women! I would definately wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wanting a natural beautiful birth experience!

Hope you don't mind me crashing in here. I've been looking for a play group in Townsville for quite a while now and my searches haven't been too successful. I'm 25 and have a 5 month old son. Can anyone recommend or know of a play group for us to join?
