Hi everyone, my name is Kelly I'm 26 with a 19 month old son and another on the way. I am desperate to start a playgroup where mothers just take it in turns having it at their place every week. If anyone is interested please let me know.

Hi there!

I'm in Townsville. I have been doing a bit of searching for mothers groups in the Townsville area too. There are'nt too many Townsville ladies here on BB so i had a look at some other forums. I have found one group who meet up at Riverway on Thursday morning at 10am in the kids pool. Not sure if thats your sort of thing.

I will PM you the details for the other website if you like!

Thanks Sara but my son had a liver transplant in February and he isn't allowed in public pools for 1 year because of the bacteria. Would love to go to something like that but just can't.

I am off to the Riverway of Thursday morning. I have also signed up with another website that has another group but no dates or times set yet. I've been chatting too a few girls on MSN and they seem quite nice. We are meeting at the Riverway too.

hello Ladies - My name is Jody (but i prefer Jo) and i'm sort of new to Townsville (by new i mean been here almost 12mths) but between preparing for bub (Michael now 14wks old) and planning my wedding in feb i haven't had a chance to meet anyone other then my fiances family. I'm almost to the point of desperation at finding a playgroup or some kind of mothers group just to get me out of the house however all groups i have tried are either full or not returing my messages

Please if you could guide me in the right direction

Welcome to Belly Belly.

I went to my first Mothers Group today. I met the group through another online forums though. We met at Riverway at 10am. It went well. Except for one thing....THE FLIES!!!! Grrrrr!! I reallly don't like flies.

Same place, same time next week if you want too join us.

Hey Sara - i think i spoke to one of the ladies about that one this morning but i couldn't make it in time and next week i have to duck out of town for a bit however i have teed it up to go the following week - they seem really nice and sounds like you's had quite a turn out today

Hi another townsville mum here! I was trying to get a playgroup off and running but have just had illness and obstacles arising. Hoping to get it back on track within the month but would love to catch up with other Townsville mums

Hey Saram - as Sara wrote in her posting the is a group on another online forum site that meet on Thursdays - they seem lovely (i've heard from a few of them) i unfortunely wont be able to make it next week however i hope to make my first meeting the following week - i've been in town for almost 12mths and yet to make a single friend

There is another couple of groups that meet on friday's. More structure though.
Why dont you start your own? Or try Postnatal Yoga for mums and bubs. at the end of the month they a have a morning tea which is fun.
I have lots of contacts. Just ask.

I'm not too sure about the Yoga classes. The place on Charters Tower Rd used to do them but she has moved too!

We are back at Riverway tomorrow if you want to join us. 10am at the playground near the Solar Power thingy!

Hi jo,

I have heard about the yoga but it's only until crawling age and my bub is on the move and it's too hard to find someone to watch her when you don't know many people. BEAPS is run at the Atkinvale PCYC on Wellington road. We used to go to kindy gym there on Tuesday and it's on at about 9:30 which is a mums and bubs fitness thing! Apparently the new Beachouse Gym is offering free creche? Oh and the Upper ross community centre has a family walking group that I'm thinking about joining
