We have "Someone came before you" and I think it's fantastic! It starts with the mum and dad being together and in love, then they start feeling empty so they decide to have a baby. There's a few pages about how much they wanted the baby, and a sweet little rhyme the mum would sing to her belly. Then the baby dies (it doesn't say how, just cuts to the funeral) and the parents are very sad for a few pages and the mum sings a song to her baby (with baby angel over her shoulder)... Then they decide to have a "very special" baby, which turns out to be "you!" Keep in mind, I'm just going from memory so I could be wrong in some details there

I think the only bit I don't like is that it suddenly jumps to the baby's funeral, no build up. That page made me cry, it even has a drawing of the little coffin and all Also, though there's no mention of religion, the picture is very obviously religious, with a priest/reverend/whatever it is in full robes etc.

ETA - I haven't read "We were going to have a baby..." but from what I know of it, it's for older siblings who saw their mums pregnant, rather than those born after.

Sent from my iPhone so forgive the speelung misstacks
