Books for children about baby loss?

I have heard of 2 books: Someone came before you & We were going to have a baby but we had an Angel instead. Does anyone have these books and if so can you give me a rundown?

I would like to maybe get a book for Button later down the track, but I can't find a summary of the books. I want to know, if it refers to stillbirth particularly and how religious the books are?

We have "Someone came before you" and I think it's fantastic! It starts with the mum and dad being together and in love, then they start feeling empty so they decide to have a baby. There's a few pages about how much they wanted the baby, and a sweet little rhyme the mum would sing to her belly. Then the baby dies (it doesn't say how, just cuts to the funeral) and the parents are very sad for a few pages and the mum sings a song to her baby (with baby angel over her shoulder)... Then they decide to have a "very special" baby, which turns out to be "you!" Keep in mind, I'm just going from memory so I could be wrong in some details there

I think the only bit I don't like is that it suddenly jumps to the baby's funeral, no build up. That page made me cry, it even has a drawing of the little coffin and all Also, though there's no mention of religion, the picture is very obviously religious, with a priest/reverend/whatever it is in full robes etc.

ETA - I haven't read "We were going to have a baby..." but from what I know of it, it's for older siblings who saw their mums pregnant, rather than those born after.

Tenibear - Thanks so much for that. It sounds like it's exactly what i want.. I'm glad it doesn't specify the type of death, it might be a good thing that it kind of leaves the death explanation up to the reader.. Where did you get yours? Amazon? I can't imagine having the local bookshop carrying it.

Yep, Amazon. I can't remember how much it was, but I don't think it was too expensive...

Maybe it should become a sticky and as people think of more they can be added? They are the only 2 books I have heard of though..

Totally agree it should be added as a sticky, i think resources for dealing with issues/concerns that arise some time after losing a child are rare, while all the support for people immediately are fantastic there are many questions that you dont think of while grieving and only afterwards come up. I know personally i was too scared/emotional to post asking questions untill recently and having a place like belly belly where you can find out info all in one place without have to "put yourself" out there would be great.
