Have posted this in belly-buddies too..... I found out today that I am pregnant. I am in shock. My story goes like this. I am 41 and DH is 47. We have been on IVF, with age-related infertility. We had out first beautiful baby after our second IVF cycle, and he is now nearing 19mths. Exactly 30 days ago I had a D and C after our FET embryo passed at 8 weeks and 3 days. He was diagnosed later as having Trisomy 7. On wednesday this week I presented to my IVF clinic to start a fresh cycle because my period had started on tuesday. They took my blood, gave me my drugs and sent me on my way. That afternoon my HCG recorded at 12 (it was 3, 8 days prior when checked to make sure that the D and C had been effective). They advised me NOT to start my drugs, and to come back for another test today. My result today was 21, and as far as they are concerned, that makes me pregnant. My word. How very unexpected. OH and I have only DTD once since the D and C and we were trying to remember when it was! We think it 'may' have been the night of our anniversary dinner on sept 2nd but aren't sure! So I am basing my EDD (May 26) using the date of my D+C as my LMP day, but I really think that I ovulated later in the cycle, and am probably actually only 3 - 3.5 weeks, especially with such low levels. Or, I am experiencing what I experienced with my last pregnancy-low and slow HCG leading to a loss. Oh and the bleeding is still going! As far as I am concerned its the same as a normal period! Anyway its all a bit odd, and I will be back for another blood test in 4 days, but until then I am thrilled and can only cross my fingers that everything is OK, and continues to be so!
