Well actually I don't know yet but I am 99% certain it's a boy! Yes, big surprise. We were actually using contraception! But after the initial shock, we're happy.
I stopped getting my period months ago at the beginning of the year. I saw my GP who did a preg test that came up negative. He said that it's just one of those things and I shouldn't worry. So my plan was to start taking the mini pill at the start of my next period and use other contraception until then. Well, it hadn't even occured to me that I might be pregnant until my partner told me I was! So I did a test and yep, he was right! On reflection, I'd been feeling tired and nauseas for a few weeks but I thought it was related to a cold gone bad I was taking antibiotics for.
I don't know how far along I am but I suspect I'm a couple of months. I haven't had a normal period all year and when I did the midstream test, the positive line came up immediately before the test line and was darker than the test line. I didn't do the test in the morning and I didn't even think I had enough urine for it to work. Also, I'm retaining water like mad, I look like I'm showing!
So yeah, surprises for everyone! my mother is very excited lol
