Yippee I am pregnant for the very 1st Time!

Hi All,

Just wanted to tell the world - I got my

Never been pregnant before TTC for about 5 months - 36 years old.
Just so very excited!!
Looks like I am due mid March 2008.
Looking forward to joining a buddy group soon!!

No one knows we were TTC so my DH & I will have to be crafty little devils for
the next few weeks.
Anyone out there with some ideas on how not to make people suspect would
be very much appreciated. We are a very social couple and need some good
excuses & ideas on how I can not drink and not get caught!!

While we were TTC I would just have a glass or two with friends at dinner but now I don't want to drink a drop!!

a huge congratulations to you hun best of luck to you and dh hope you have a very happy and healthy pg my dh always tells me when i say im getting fat nah its just because its winter lol.and as for your drinks just order something that looks like you could have vodka or something in it pmsl...take care and oh i think well be due around the same time

Congrats again

i would say that i was on antibiotics - we all know you can't drink whilst on them! and if you see the same people after 1week to 10days just say you had to have another course of them as infection was not quiet gone its not unusual to have 2 courses of antibiotics.

I use the " Oh I'm doing a bit of a detox at the moment" excuse for not drinking...lol

Hi AnnaBelle - good on you both! We actually did a HPT today and it showed positive too!! Yay, SOOOOO excited - need to see docs prob Sat next week. AF due tomorrow but I don't think a test wwould show pos if not??!

When did you conceive? I want to know when I'd be due too, hoping for a March bub too.

Gretski - That is so cool congratualtions to you - it is a weird & surreal feeling
seeing that

I still can't believe it and I found out Wednesday night!!
My last period was 7 June & according to one of my books & when I called
my OB the est birth date is 14th March.
I tested when my AF was 2 days late - so if you got one before your AF I think
that is a very good thing.
If you want to tell me your first day of your last period I am happy to look it up
in my book for you. I believe once you get scanned they can give you a more

Mum2Furbabies - great name - thanks - good luck with TTC & keeping it "Mum" from your friend when you get your BFP (I thought of a good one myself last night - bring a bottle of wine (emptied & cleaned & filled with apple juice to dinner and share it with your husband!!)
Thanks everyone - I am feeling good except for a blocked nose/cough - slept 12 hours straight last night - don't know if it is the preg or the cold that made me do that.
So really all is good - going to my GP tomorrow to get BT & see what I can do to get better.

my last AF was June 11 (1st day) - it'll be cool finding out, thanks! Of course it rarely happens that due day though doesn't it? Will definately see you in March posts - will do that once confirmed with doc.

Hi Annabelle- i just told everyone that I had started Weight Watchers and wasn't allowed to drink

funny how i just got fatter though! not very good publicity for weight watchers!

Congratulations Annabelle. I too have decided to keep my preg a secret and am using the detox excuse for now. Makes you realise how deep alcohol is engrained in our society- pretty scary really. People look at you like you are an alien just because you dont want to have a drink!! Stick to your guns and just ulitise the excuses above- your body and baby will be ever so grateful for it!! Plus I'm sure everyone will appreciate the surprise later on. All the best. xx
