    Pain in cervix?

Hi ladies, I am almost 6 weeks along and a couple of hours ago i experienced some intense pains in my cervix. I remember when I had my tubes flushed they couldn't get to my cervix so they had to 'clamp' it and hold it in place in order to get the catheter in. This pain was identical to that pain and not very pleasant at all.
It only lasted about 10 minutes and then i was totally fine.

Does anybody know what this could be? I am very worried...

    Pain in cervix?

Sounds painful, and I'm really not sure what may have caused it... But your cervix does go through a lot of changes in pregnancy, as you probably already know! The blood vessels change, it lengthens and becomes full of blood and the plug forms to keep it closed through the pregnancy. It can bleed too, after sex especially because it is fairly soft and has more blood in it than usual.

Would definitely be something to mention to your dr, if you're not up to date with your Pap smears they may want to do one just to rule out anything untoward. I have found that it is much better to ask your dr and have them tell you that you have nothing to worry about than let it get you concerned. You may be able to call the maternity section of your hospital too and get some advice over the phone, and they might ask you to come in and be checked, I know my hospital here does that, even if you haven't done your booking in yet.

Get yourself some reassurance, and step away from Dr Google! Just call the hospital and speak to someone Good luck with the pregnancy, hope it goes smoothly and easily for you

I'm going to contradict myself... or make myself look silly or something... (easily done!)

I had that too. It was weird, it was painful, it happened a few times and then it went away. So I did nothing. Good news - two healthy babies (both a little on the early side)

BUT, I agree with the others. Don't ignore it like I did. It's well worth just chatting to the hospital or your OB and getting it checked out. Hope it's nothing and that you get no more random ouchies xoxo

Thanks Frog and santosha But it's too late, I googled But Google says it's fine, couldn't find anything negative so that's always good I suppose.
If it happens again I will tell my GP.
