Heartrate at 6 weeks 1 day

I had my ultrasound yesterday and was found to be 6 weeks 1 day pregnant with bubby having a heartrate of 101pbm. The lady doing the ultrasound said everything looked great however I have just got back from my doctor's appointment and I've been told that I need to have another ultrasound in 2 weeks as the heartrate is too slow

So now, naturally I am stressing. Is 101bpm really slow for 6 weeks 1 day?

Hayles - I had a quick look around and most literature says the average heart rate for a 6 week fetus is 90-115 bpm. Realistically not every bub's heart starts beating at the same time, so some will be slower and some faster, so i'm sure everything is fine!!

at 6 weeks 1 day your bubs heart ahs probly only just started beating and it needs time to learn how to do this and how to beat properly im sure your next scan will have a nice fast heart beat.
    dont stress all sounds great

Sparkles - Thanks! That's the information I found as well but the GP said they like it to be between 120-160pbm...

Kawazuki - Thanks! That is what I figured - That it had only been beating for a few days so wouldn't expect it to be too fast..

I guess after a m/c in December, I am finding it hard not to stress. I will just have to try and be positive until my next ultrasound!

I had a friend who's babys HR was 98bpm & she was really worried too.... all is well though & she has a healthy bub now.
I know how stressful it can be, with my first I had an u/s at 10 weeks & HR was 89bpm (so lower than the "safe" 90-115 mentioned above) & as I drove to a different hospital (about half hour drive) it stopped beating so when I had the next u/s about an hour after the first, bubs heart had stopped. So I have been nervous each time I've been pregnant due to this happening.

I would say your babys HR will be alot stronger in 2 weeks time. 101bpm Sounds good to me! Wishing you all the very best

Thanks Danielle! It sure is a stressful wait!

I've booked my ultrasound for June 2nd so I will be about 8 weeks. Hoping and praying I see a nice strong heartbeat
