I had my first appointment with doc on Tuesday to take bloods etc. Got to work, went to loo and saw I was bleeding. Not heavily though. Rang her back and she organised a scan that afternoon.
Scan showed nothing and when I went back to doc this morning, specialist report said there was no egg sac visible. My cycles are very weird, but I thought I was 6 weeks today. My Tuesday blood test showed HCG levels of 1100. She's taken more today to see if they're rising. I did a positive HPT in her office today. Bleeding stopped yesterday and it never got heavy so she doesn't think I've m/c'd.
I can't see how I can possibly be only 5 weeks, because DH went back to work the day after I thought I O'd (he does nights, I do days), so unless he has swimmers that hang around for 5-7 days, it's impossible.
The doc is a little worried about an ectopic. I've had no pain, which is good. I have to have another scan on Wednesday. I would definitely be 6 weeks by then so if there's nothing in my uterus then, there's a problem. In the meantime, if I get abdominal pain I have to go straight to hospital.
The doc thinks that everything will turn out to be okay, but I'm still a little bit scared.
Your HCG levels are really good, so maybe it is just a little early. I have long cycles and when I had my dating scan with Lindsay, they put the date back one week, meaning I was only 6 wks instead of 7, which meant I actually conceived a bit later than I thought. This could have happened to you Snod. And it is not uncommon for sperm to live for up to 5 days anyway.
when i went for my scan this pregnancy i was supposed to be 7 weeks, but it came back only 5 weeks, i spent the next couple of weeks worrying, so my next scan was ok, i just wasnt far along as thought, or by LMP dates, this was a long cycle so i O later on.
I really hope it was just too early for the U/S. I thought that swimmers COULD hang around for at least 5 days. When I was 6 weeks, the embryo was only 0.2mm, so VERY tiny. It must be hard to find something even that small. :bluestick: inkstick: :bluestick: inkstick:
snodgrass, i hope the bean sticks and can be found next week,
just relax over the weekend, and dont stress....

Thanks guys. I'm just trying to concentrate on work and getting my assignments done this weekend. Nothing I can do about it, so just have to be patient.
The bleeding stopped for 24 hours and has just started again, very lightly. Still no pain though.
DH is really excited thinking he has these "super swimmers" that last for 7 days
