Hi Ladies,

I am 13 weeks pregnant and had my nuchal ultrasound done xmas eve and got all the results back this week. The nuchal measurement was only 1.3mm so puts me in the low risk category for trisomy 21, but my free bhcg was .356MoM and my PAPP-A result was .223MoM. With these results my risk for the baby having trisomy 13,18 is 1:242. My doctor has suggested that I can have an amnio or just wait until the morph scan at 18-20weeks to see.

Has anyone else experienced these results and had a good outcome? With our first bub our risk for trisomy 21 was 1:252 and we had an amnio and all was fine, so we are in the same situation as with our son. I am so scared to have the amnio as we have had 3 miscarriages to conceive this bub and I just couldn't bear to lose this one also.

Anyone got any other reasons for the blood results and no abnormality? The doctor did suggest sometimes there is a problem with the placenta?

any advice/suggestions would be most helpful

many thanks

Shannon
