: I think you mean 'cramp' not 'crap'? xo
I know how difficult it is when you don't know or understand what your body is doing!
I am sure you'll hear this lots - every body is different. But it's true. I have had a pregnancy where i bled loads, yet gave birth to a healthy baby girl who is now 3. Saying this, i have experienced miscarriage with bleeding, miscarriage without bleeding, and an ectopic with just spotting. When i bleed as a result of a miscarriage, it's like someone has turned a tap on full blast! I can't use sanitary items as they are pointless, all i can do is sit on the loo until the worst of the bleeding subsides. With the ectopic, it was just spotting with some tiny clot-like material that looked more like what u get when u wash your clothes with a tissue in the pocket, only brown. The bleeding during my healthy pregnancy was normally fresh blood from memory. i can't remember if there was any clotting etc... I didn't really take too much notice to be honest.
It's important to go and see a doctor to be checked out, but it's also just as important to stay calm for now. It could be something, it could be nothing.
I wish for you that it's nothing to worry about. Sending you happy healthy pregnancy vibes!!!
Thanks ciara.e its helps to know what might happen during different situations. I have had 2 days of brown spotting and this morning I woke up and went to the toilet and when i wiped the paper was covered in fresh red blood. Its still there, no clots no cramping, but still quite a bit and has mucous in it too. i rang the midwife for advice and as it is i have a scan booked in for the morning. Not much I can do but wait.
It doesn't sound too bad just now. With my most recent loss I had pretty severe cramping! Horrible back pain for weeks too. Glad to hear this isn't the case for you.
Not long to wait until your scan. Just try and keep yourself busy with other things. And keep me updated about the results! I'll be thinking of you
I know this might be a stupid question but if i need to have an internal ultrasound tomorrow, will they do it even if I am bleeding? Am still bleeding, just like my period.
I wish you all the best for the scan. It's so hard to tell, I've heard many stories of pregnant women having bleeds and the pregnancy continues. I hope that the scan clears up things for you and that it's good news. xo
I had a bleed when i was about 8 weeks i think. A big gush of fresh red blood and a bit of spotting for a few days after. But i too have heard of people who didnt know they were pregnant cause they had normal periods for the first few months!!! I have my fingers crossed for you!
Yeah, just like Leigh said - I've had many internal ultra sounds while bleeding. To be honest, I've had so many of these ones, and i've yet to have a male take the ultra sound. Women are great - after all, their bodies are just the same as ours... they won't be offended by it or anything.
Try not to let things worry you at this stage. Regardless of the outcome, we're all going to be here to support you! Fingers crossed we'll be sending labour encouragement your way in a few months!!!
Well I had my u/s today and they couldnt see anything from my tummy so they did an internal. She couldnt give me an answer basically. She saw a sac, but nothing in it. It is measuring 5w1d, so a good week behind what I think I am. then there was another ?cyst like shape a bit further away down the uterus. She wasnt sure what it was. So tomorrow I will go and get bloods done and will have to have another u/s in 2 weeks.
Just a question reguarding early m/c....do you pass big clots? I havent had any clots. I just dont know what to expect. My hpt comes up positive still...how long after a m/c would you expect it to be negative? TIA Melissa
Mel - I hope you get some answers soon, hopefully your hcg will still be rising and everything will be ok. My fingers are crossed for you!!!
Both of my miscarriages were at 12 weeks, they were both missed miscarriages, the first one the baby had died at 8 wks and I had no bleeding, found out at 12 scan it had died, I had a d & c a day later as my body obviously wasn't getting rid of it on its own. With my 2nd miscarriage the baby died at 11 wks and I found out at the 12 wk scan and had another d & c with that one too. Sorry I can't answer about clotting etc. Like Didi said some people have just bleeding, others have clots as well.
Take it easy and try and rest as much as possible (easier said than done, with 2 little ones running around)
Melissa, a hpt will still come up positive until all of the hormones are out of your system. My doctor told me that you will always show up positive until the miscarriage is complete, and then for alittle while after it can also show up positive.
Regarding the clotting, I did pass one very small clot with one of my miscarriages, in July this year... it was only about 3mm wide and 8mm long. Not very big at all. I just passed lots of tiny little ones like little bits of washed tissue this time. I'm not sure if this helps at all?
What was the exact wording on the u/s report?
Hope it all turns out to be good news for you. Fingers crossed for you!!!
Thanks girls...I have to see my gp at 940 today. I have been passing small clots, like the size of rice. Am pretty sure its going to end. Just have to wait for the bloods. I havent really felt pregnant this whole pregnancy iykwim. With my dd's i always had sore bbs and some nausea. This has not been the case, just tiredness and no af. I can only speculate but am pretty sure its over. I will keep you all updated. Thanks for the info its been very reassuring and making this journey much easier.
I know what you mean, I just knew this time also... just didn't want to accept it.
I won't be giving up hope for you just yet hun! You never know - some women don't experience symptoms in pregnancy. Perhaps you're just having one like that!
I'll be thinking of you, best wishes! hoping all works out.
