okay, so i've had some pretty yukky ms and i have a massive gag reflex right now. CANNOT swallow pregnancy vitamins or my vit.B6. Even thinking about it makes me gag! anyone else had this happen? WHat did you do? I have been trying to eat eggs every second day cause i know they're high in folate. any other suggestions??

Can you disolve or crush them? I think if I wanted to take them and I couldn't I would crush them and add them to something.

I am only 4 weeks and I have to really zone out to take my pills... I can only imagine how fun it's going to be next week!

    Good luck

the folate only tablets are much smaller than the pregnancy multivitamins. and much cheaper too. i got mine from the chemist, called Megafol 0.5. you take 1 a day and they cost about $5 for 100 tablets.

I'm having the same problem & have kinda gotten around it. I have breakfast & while I still have a bit of toast in my mouth, stick the pill in & swallow. I'm tricking my brain into thinking I'm just swallowing food! It works most of the time!

I moved onto Megafol for this exact reason! I also have a horrible gag reflex and found this combined with my vomiting in early pregnancy was just too much. Megafol is a pretty tiny tablet and I could get this one down without noticing.

You can get a pill crushing device at the pharmacy, and pull capsules apart. Stir the pill contents into juice or honey or jam & swallow it down that way. Works for most things but check with yr pharmacist before doing it with script pills as sometimes they are not suitable.
