    Body Temperature Overheating Concern

Hi everyone. My concern and question is this. I am aware that a sustained high temperature during pregnancy can cause some degree of brain damage, thus the reason you can not use electric blankets etc. If I am correct in this my concern is 1. If you have too many blankets on at night (and sleep like the dead like I do and not wake up to take them off), can this raise your temperature significantly enough to cause damage? If you are really overheated?
I am quiet panicked because of this as I also had the flu at about week 8 and am concerned that I may have had a temperature then and possibly something may have gone wrong.
I just had my 13 week ultrasound but obviously although things appear ok, you can't look into the brain.
Does anyone know of any information or personal experience that they can give me some peace of mind?

    Hi Nell71,
Im not sure, but Im the same as you with the waking up hot. I will wake up some mornings and Im sweating and think the same thing. I dont have a hot bath or have an electric blanket so I just hope my body will control the temp for my little jelly bean. Sometimes my shower will be a little hotter and I worry about that too.

Im sure we will be ok, otherwise they would have stressed it under pregnancy donts, like the hot baths and all the other warnings. Just make sure when you wake through the night you grab a drink of water.
