    Question Reason to be concerned??

    Hi All,

I am almost 9 weeks into my pregnancy and one week away from my first obst appointment.

This gets a little personal - just a pre warning

I have had dull aches/cramps at the begining of my pregnancy but they went away, a few days aog I noticed trace amounts of dark blood when I wiped after going to the toilet. I figured there is a lot of extra blood going through my system and didn't think anymore of it.
Yesterday it was the same - not every toilet trip but once or twice and not enough to soil knickers.
This morning it was a brighter red and a little bit more than before but still not enough to soil and accompanied with dull achy cramps on my right side.

This is my first pregnancy, I have thought I should go to the docter just in case but they do not bulk bill and Thursday next week is pay day SO I am asking anyone if this is normal at this stage to experience this or am I about to loose the baby?

    Thanks all
    Nae x

NaeNae, many women bleed in pg without a problem BUT any bleeding should be checked out straight away as it can be a sign of a problem. Please go and see a doctor straight away, it is much better to be safe than sorry. The dark blood is old blood and can often be from a clot which is harmless (I had that with pg 1), but red blood is new blood so it is much better to get checked out straight away. All the very best hun, let us know how you go at the doctor.

    Hi Nae Nae
I would definitely be getting it checked out, it could be a number of things and whilst your bubba is probably fine it's better to get it checked and know for sure.
    Hope this helps

Can you maybe go to the hospital. It is much better to put your mind at ease that everything is ok rather than stress about it.

NAENAE Yes it is common for some bleeding in early pregnancy. If you're not going to get it checked out, then at least put your feet up for a few days. My sister had this at 12 weeks and the doctor said it could be the placenta coming off the wall and she needed to take it easy. My advice (if you can't get a doctors) would be to stay home and rest as much as possible. Don't even do any house work.

Nae Nae I would go to the hospital. As at the hospital they have us machine so they can check on bubs. The doc would prop just send you have us anyway. But definitely get it checked out. Hope all is well.

    Unhappy

    Hey all,

I called and made an appointment with the local gp. Basically he told me straight up I was starting to miscarry. He sent me to get an ultrasound and sure enough the embyo hadn't developed past 5 weeks and two days - it certainly wasn't at the stage it should have been.

So in a nutshell my first pregnancy failed. I am a little sad but I can be grateful that I wasn't further into my pregnancy when it happened.

The doctor said to wiat until after my next cycle before we start trying again.

its never a nice thing to go through, I s'pose all you can do is look at the positives (like I got bigger boobs for a while) And I can thank goodness that it hadn't developed into a fetus so when it does come out it won't be recognisable.

So I have decided I won't be back on here for a little while until I get a BFP again anything baby is just upsetting at the moment.

Thanks all - will see you soon - hopefully

    Love Nae

    HI Ladies -

Swung by to say thanks for all the support

Have decided that I will pop in from time to time just to see whats going on in the world of BellyBelly I am doing really well though I wish the cramps would ease at least to a dull ache and the bleeding will stop.

Hubby and I will be giving this whole pregnancy thing another bash in the new year (Jan 1st here we come) as I want to give my body a cycle or two to 'settle'

Emotional I am coping better than I thought I would and returned to work on Mon - I don't like to sit and dwell on things nor do I view this experience as a 'loss' but I do take the time and cry if I need to. Each day gets easier and for me getting all my firsts over and done with early has been the best thing (like first day back at work, first day back at school etc)

Anyhoo, wanted to say thanks to all, I am really looking forward to posting in this section with a BFP soon.

Will see y'all round the traps.

    TTFN
