    Lightbulb HCG test strips

    Hi

Does any one know if Diabetes can mask the HCG in those early test strips?

Im at day 26, everyone is convinced Im not pregnant because there is no HCG, my BB's have been sore for the last 2 wks, I've had cramps, my urine is fluro yellow,( Unless Im wrong there)........ I've already started the greiving process that Im not, so if I do get my period this weekend it won't hurt so much!

    B.J (secretly still hopeful)

diabetes shouldn't change the appearance of HCG - but sometimes hcg levels are very low and home preg tests aren't very sensitive. Many women on BB haven't had a positive on a home test til well after AF is due and hasn't arrived...

    good luck

There's a certain brand of HCG strips that *still* hasn't given me a +ve result, whereas the First Response Early Detection gave me a good, solid dark line. On Saturday. Have done the others every day since, and nothing. I'm now 17dpo, so 2 days past AF's due date.
So maybe it's just the strips?

The strips at the hospital were neg on day 24 too??????

I just don't feel normal in the lower abdo! I've been told in no uncertain terms you DO NOT have any symptoms this early and certainly not 48-36hrs Post.O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's only my body! But what would I know.....never been pregnant before and I don't have the MBBS (Me Brilliant ButB*dy Stupid) .Im only an Equine Reproductive technician!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My older sister had her head over the bowl the next day after the intimate moment occcoured!!!!! Shes got 3 boys and all the same symptoms!

day 24 of your cycle is still only 10 days post ovulation if you have a 14 day luteal phase. as much as home preg tests say they can show up as early as ffive days before your period is due, it's not often that they do

as a reproductive technician you'd know all about embryo's having to develop to a certain point before they implant - it can't happen before at LEAST 6 dpo, usually 8 - and can be as late as 12 DPO - and once implantation occurs, your body has to start producing HCG and then has to climb to high enough levels to register. Doctors and hospital HPT's are notorious for not being as sensitive as many other tests - and you normally wouldn't do a hospital HPT on first morning urine (most concentrated hcg), so it's highly likely that you may not have anything show up for several more days yet

FWIW - i had a blood test at 15DPO and the concentration of HCG in that sample would not have been enough to trigger a GP HPT - i'd had 3 days running of positives at home though. my levels were VERY low but climbed beautifully and i'm now only weeks off delivery of our first bubba. i know implantation for this bubba occurred late (10 dpo) as i felt it happen. so don't give up hope, and don't stress if you're getting negatives at the moment - it may just be too early.

Thanks heaps for the sigh of ease! I kept telling the idiots at the hospital it is/could be still early both times (the other was day 5 post O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I did read somewhere that some women don't necessarily implant until 19 days P.O but I told a woman today that every woman and pregnancy is unique. (so I hear and she agreed)
A horse is generally scanned at 21 days (again at 45 days)Post last Service date, or A.I date if a 4cm follicle is seen on the scan for a P.P.T (positive preg test). By then she will be producing PMSG. Hope I didn't sound rude before, I was just T.O.L (thinking out loud) and having a whinge coz Ive had so much garbage from others who think I shouldn't even be trying!!
So apologies if I did, I am feeling very vunerable and anxious that nothing has shown up. But, in the end, I guess only time will give me that answer!

So ok, I hear ya, Don't stress yet!

O.M.G........I just realised something, Did you feel like a sudden sharp stab down there that almost ricochetted down the V.walls? I was sitting at the Dr's surgery On Tuesday afternoon when I felt this! It was like 'Ouch", enough to make me grab my tummy!

i felt like someone had ripped a sticky bandaid off my insides and left it raw for a few hours. i actually told DH that it felt like a Gremlin trying to claw it's way out of my tummy (hence our bubba being nicknamed the Gremlin!)
