    Unhappy Very nervous and scared

I found out last week I'm pregnant. So I'm just over 5 weeks
I've had 2 blood tests and have to have a third cause
my Dr is concerned that the
    hcg levels aren't going up
as much as she'd like. Has anyone
else had this? I also had a small amount
    of brown discharge last night
    and this morning? Does anyone
else have this? Am very emotional at
the moment. Want it all to be ok.

Happy I'm sorry you're feeling scared, it's not fair is it? It's meant to be: get pregnant, be happy, grow baby, give birth & live happily ever after. But not all pregnancies are text book & no two pregnancies are the same.
I know it's hard but try to focus on the positives - you are pregnant & your hcg is (I assume) still rising. With my current pregnancy my levels never doubled as expected but slowly they were still going up. I was on toilet paper watch every time I went to the loo as I was convinced I wouldn't get my happy healthy pregnancy but I was wrong - I'm now 28wks, bubs is doing great & I'm actually relaxed (most of the time) & enjoying myself.

Good luck & know that you are not alone xxx

Thanks Tic Tok. It is so hard cause I don't know
what to expect. Did you have any discharge or spotting
    during your first trimester?

Yes, I had implantation bleeding which started off pink & then red, then brown & a few weeks later I had brown discharge which scared me as I had only experienced spotting when my pregnancies ended in m/c. But like i said before everyone is different & no 2 pregnancies are the same. I had to bar myself from researching on google because I was constantly focusing on the negative stories.

    Re: Very nervous and scared

Hi Happy13, I think I'm a few days to a week ahead of you. My Dr had me doing HCG & progesterone tests every 2 days week before last week because they were low, & they then dipped at which point we were told to expect to MC. Then the next test showed they'd gone up... So on Monday this week past, we went in for a scan & more blood tests, one fear being ectopic which can be the reason for low levels. Even though its too early to see much at 5 weeks they can sometimes see a mass around your ovaries or tubes which would indicate ectopic. Fortunately mine looked fine & they think they found a sac, there was a definite black blob in my uterus which we saw. We were so overjoyed as we'd spent a week worrying about levels & expecting the worst!

Then later on Monday I started to feel period pain which came & went. Then on Tuesday around midday I had terrible period pain & started spotting what looked like old blood (brown & watery) Panadol helped the pain, but goodness I was freaked out it was all over (again). After more cramping Tuesday evening it then stopped & I've only had the odd mild twinge since then. But the brown spotting has continued, getting lighter every day till now.

I'm going in for another scan & blood test this coming Monday, hopefully to get some positive answers which will let me sit back & relax for a while!

From what everyone has told me & what I've read, bleeding & cramping can be totally normal, and it can also be a sign of mc so it really tests your patience. But always keep in mind if its sharp pain (when Panadol won't work) & heavy bleeding then get to ER as it could be ectopic.

I've found just having a glimmer of hope is pulling me through, which hopefully you can too!

I should also mention I had what I think was implantation bleeding from 9 DPO, which was very very light & brown, it lasted 5 days.

I hope it all works out for you! Sticky baby dust for us both

    Hugs x
