    HCG Not Doubling

Hi Everyone, I was hoping someone could help me. At 4wks my hcg was 115, at 5 wks it was 1000 and now at 6 wks I?m only 4600?. Am I going to miscarry??? Do I have a chance that my HCG will start doubling? The doctor said that the little bugger could be just a little slow at the moment and could pick up over this week.

    Has anyone experienced this?

    Hi Bubwishes
Your HCG increases are well and truly withn the normal range, and perhaps yours doubles over 72 hours instead of 48 - that would seem consistent with the increases.

I have had a lot of worry with HCG and have come to the conclusion that everyone is different, and look for your own individual pattern. My doctor has reassured me that she think mine are good number, and although the science says doubling 48 hours, this is for 70% up to 6000 hcg then it slows, and the other 30% that have a slower rise like yours (but steady, that is the pattern) - still have wonderful babies.

Bubwishes, please try and stay positive for bubs, - have your hcg done again in a few days if you wanna check if 72 hours is more your pattern.

Good luck, and please let me know how you go

The doubling thing is for 3 days not 2 days so it's probably fine.

I have worked it out to, that that is perfectly normal levels. Like the girls say its seems like its doubling between 48 and 72 hours, which is fine, and i have heard too that it slows after it gets over a few thousand.

Many women feel different "symptoms" and some dont feel any at all, or not till a little later.

I can understand your fears Bubwishes, i can. From your ticker i can see this has been a hard road for you so far. to me those numbers are good! As long as your not seeing any signs of AF- you are winning!!

    Take care

My specialist says numbers should double every 24-72 hours.. so that can be 1-3 days.. He is the prof at the Reproductive Clinic.. I think he knows his stuff!! So hope this helps!

    Hi Bubwishes

We are born worriers aren't we - but you have had a long road and I keep everything crossed for you.

I don't know much about the oestrogen and progesterone side - I find it hard enough just thinking of my HCG - my first two bubs I only had initial bloods and then nothing till 12 weeks - amazing how much we learn. If only school had of been this interesting.

Good luck and I will see you in BB Oct thread

I was worried about my progesterone levels dropping from 80 to 64 but the next blood test the level had risen to 98 and my Ob said the way the progesterone levels are measured means that they can fluctuate, they look for the range as to whether there's a problem or not. Your levels are good. Will you be having additional blood tests to track your hCG and progesterone levels this week? A dating scan would also help for reassurance. Try not to let yourself be consumed with worry. Easier said than done, I know! I'm hoping that I'll be able to relax a little more once I have my 12 week scan and blood tests.
Congratulations on your pregnancy and wishing you lots of

Hi Bubwishes, I would say try not too worry about the progesterone and oestrogen levels, the clinic will tell you if they are worried. As far as the HCG levels, you can go and have a look at betabase there is a big range of HCG levels and it is very reasurring. After you have your scan and see a HB the most reliable insdicator a a viable pregnancy is US because HCG levels peak between 8-10 weeks. I can tell you the HCG doubling slows down and at day 38PO my doubling time took 180 hours. Try not to worry, says the biggest worrier in the world.

    Bubwishes,

Just wanted to send you some and dont stress too much about HCG levels. I lost two babies, and with the third they wanted to monitor my HCG levels, but I refused as I didnt want that added stress. My DD is almost 6mo now!

    Hi bubswishes!

I'm in a similar boat to you. We did a stim cycle with transfer on the 29th Jan. On the 11th my levels were 45 and on the 14th they were 150. I'm waiting for yet another BT on Thursday. I've done a lot of reading and come to the conclusion that there is a lot of leeway in what's considered normal, and what's important is that they're going up. I'm trying to keep my stress down and pay attention to my body rather than the tests. So far so good but I bet I'm not this calm on Thursday!!!!!

See that you won't be back again until Wednesday (I make those promises to myself too but always, always break them LOL so hi if you're reading this ), but know that I'm thinking of you and hoping that your next test is enough to help you relax!!!!!!!

    Trish,

Im most probably not the right person to speak to at the moment. We found out yesterday that our little angle left us.

I have come to the conclusions that I know too much and that some times ignorance is bliss.

Thanks for everyone?s comments and well wishes?.until next time; I send you all my 'bubwishes'.
