Red face I'm new... and scared... and excited... and grumpy...

    Hi everyone,

I'm Shelley and I've just joined this forum on the advise of a friend.
I emailed her this morning blabbering my guts out because yesterday I did a pregnancy test, then another and it terms out... I'm pregnant. Which is great! We have been trying, and I'm happy to say it didn't take long...

But, I'm really scared. I hate writing it on here because I feel like I'm jinxing myself... but, I've never been pregnant before and I don't have any idea what to think, what to feel, where to start looking for information - basically, I feel really excited, I'm going to be a Mummy, but really worried that the bottom of the well will fall out and well... it'll turn out that I'm NOT pregnant.

My friend who referred me here mentioned that being nervously excited is normal... but I feel like an emotional wreck.

    HELP!?!

Welcome to BB and congratulations on your pregnancy!

Yep, being nervous is part of the package sometimes, I'm afraid

Join in with your belly buddies group - they're all due around the same time as you. You'll see what others are going through at the same stage as you.

    Welcome to Belly Belly Shelley

Oh the joys of the first trimester!! There are so many emotions, hormones and feelings going on at once. Its no wonder we feel all over the place.

Have you been to your GP to arrange a blood test?

Belly Belly is a wealth of support, advice, resource and education. I have no doubt you will enjoy your time here.

Like RhiChiChi said, jump into the Belly Buddies thread of the month your due. You're more than likely to find the others are experiencing very similar feelings to yourself.

Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months!!

    Thanks very much everyone

I will be heading to the doctor tomorrow to get a blood test and find out my due date, I can't wait to join a group!
I have very irregular cycles and although we have been trying, it was still a huge shock to see the two lines on the home test... I've actually didn't know what to do... I just sat there staring at it. Seeing the BFP did explain the tiredness and grumpiness though... I hope!

Congrats to you Maruschke on the BFP (got to get used to these abbreviations hehe!). How exciting, is this your first? Do you know your due date?

I'm so excited about finding out. I have a twin sister, who is due in April, so our little one will be along a few months later I'm thinking. Although, my family are in NZ and obviously I'm here in Australia... so having a support forum will be me wonders

Thanks for being so welcoming and supportive! I actually feel much, much better (and a little teary... damn it!) xo
