Oh you poor thing! That's nasty

I didn't throw up with either pregnancy but felt like it most of the time until it eased around 15 weeks. I felt a lot worse this pregnancy and started taking Maxolon around 6 weeks. It helped me a lot. I also found icy poles really helpful, especially with my first as I was in the first trimester during summer.

For what it's worth, ginger (of any description) did NOT help me at all. It made me feel worse and I've actually just given all my ginger 'goodies' to my MIL

I hope you're on the mend soon

I hope it stops soon for you Its an awful feeling. DH used to call me his alarm clock as every morning I would spew without fail. For me it stopped at 16 weeks and all of a sudden it was a strange feeling not to be throwing up. It did re-start again at 34weeks unfortunately for me. It was the worst thing about being pregnant.
    Vegemite was my saviour.

I wont comment on the when it will stop part cause I have no idea about non spewing pregnancies but having a jatz before you stand up might help? Peeled green apples, fruit tingles, Fox Glacier Mints and those just add hot water hot chocolates helped my tummy (much later in my pregnancy though). Might not help but might be worth a try at least they arent so bad coming back up....

Big it really is an awful thing to experience.

I took myself to bed last night at 630pm and slept until 6am thismorning!

Ive been taking the blackmore m/s tablets, you are meant to take 1 three times a day but i never seem to get to take 3 a day.
Lily & Ali- vegemite on toast has been going well here and i have been eating an apple a day plus really enjoying fruit.
i think my body is rejecting food it thinks i shouldnt yet..... yet im trying to feel like i can eat normally maye thats my downfall. yesterday i felt like sushi (not fish sushi) so i went to a place where they make it in front of you, but gosh throwing that up was just horrid. last week i felt like a naughty and ate m&m's and thats what i threw up..

Taureen - whats maxalon? is it a prescription? last ob visit 2 wks ago i was telling my ob the m/s seemed to have eased (cause i hadnt been sick for 4-5 days prior) if i was still sick i think i would have been asking for something else.

i feel bad for ds1 & 2 as when i feel like this i just cant do anything. yesterday i was at work in the morning, felt ok, then i get home they want attnetion and i start feeling sick...

if there is 1 positive about the whole situation i have yet to put on any weight this pregnancy!!

Nickers : oh I feel for you , I haven't left my couch for 3 days with ms, it drives you insane

My OB gave me a script for Maxalon (it's an anti nausea drug ) I took one yesterday and it helped, I was able to get off
The couch and and peel potatoes, exciting I know. It was just good to be vertical.

I think it's time you tried it, to help get you through the day sweets.

As Bengal said, yup, Maxalon is a prescription anti-nausea tablet. Get a script as soon as you can, it could make all the difference.

Also, on your preggy vitamins, switch to a once a day only brand. The Natures Own tablets are much cheaper, you only need on a day and they contain the same ingredients (more for memory) as Blackmores. They are big tablets but one a day is a lot easier to stomach. : D

I think looking into a prescription for Maxolon is a good idea, I got it from either my GP or OB. Also keeping hydrated is really key so perhaps try something like hydralite or gastrolyte (not sure on those spellings).
It is horrible, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
As for the original question, I am 37 weeks and still waiting.....

I lived on maxalon and stemitil in all three of my pregnancies, until about 16 weeks. I found I just couldn't function with out it, and I became dehydrated really easily. I found that eating iceblocks, watermelon and any other fruit with a high sugar content helped a lot as I got the water and sugar to help me through the day.

It does go away eventually, some people are ok at 8 weeks, others suffer the whole pregnancy. But on average it does ease at about 12-14 weeks and you will feel like you have more energy too. If you aren't already, take multivitamines and an iron tablet, as I found when my iron was low it made me feel sick as well.

Hoping you feel better really soon xx

Rytha : did you take 3 a day every day ?

My OB has prescribed 3 a day, I'm just wondering should I space it out or just take it every day.

i am also taking pregnancy & bf tabs and i had low iron from my first blood test so also taking fefol once a day.

so seings my ob appt is not for another 3wks do u think i should ring my ob's office and ask?

I dont know if its related (cause ive been vomitting before this) but yesterday started taking a course of AB, which is just a prevention of infection...i had it through my last pregnancy too as after ds1 was born at 33wks....but one of the side affects i read can be vomitting, so i just dont know how much of it is m/s and if any is related to the AB.

i threw up my vegemite toast thismorning and then started bawling my eyes out...i just hate feeling like this... i gotta start work at 1pm today, drop the kids to MIL before hand, its just so hard to function feeling this way....

Call your OBs office and see if they can just prepare a script for you to collect. If they won't, your normal GP can do it but depending on your relationship, you may need an appointment.

Oh Nic! What an awful morning for you love

I really think you should talk to your GP, OB or a midwife ASAP. A prescription anti-emetic could be the goer, especially if you've tried everything else. Don't feel like you just have to suffer through it, you sound exhausted.

    Big hugs xxx

I took 4 a day... I woke about 2am and took one otherwise I would be so sick when I woke up couldn't keep it down. I did hate taking drugs but it is the only thing that kept me going.

The dr did have to get special permission to give me so many at once, otherwise I had to go back every 5 days to get another script
