Hi Jess - sorry to hear your ms is so bad! I can't comment on the maxalon but just wanted to offer an alternative - acupuncture can be amazing at treating ms. Obviously more expensive but would be worth it I'm sure to make you feel better. Good luck hun.

i took maxalon with both pregnancies.... for a few weeks because it did nothing. I was then put on Zofran and guess what??

I ws one of those lucky ones for whom that did nothing either. hahahaha
I just did the drip thing when I was severely dehydrated, ate and drank when I could, carried buckets around from 8 weeks until birth.... and tried to tell myself that this all pregnancy vomitting so many times a day was a good thing, and that it could be worse. lol

I hope you can find something that works. MS is horrible.

There are a few different things you can try, ask your GP.
    Phenergan is another option.

talk to your care giver about alternatives. There are other medications they can give you to help with the nausea that are safe in pregnancy.

    Congrats on your pregnancy!

I did not need maxolon with DD but this pregnancy I took it on and off for about 2 weeks (1 tab a day) then m/s (or shall i say all day and night sickness) really kicked in and was gagging at the thought of even eating, i was told to take 1 tab 3 x a day and did so for about 3-4 days, and i still have the nausea, but i cant at least eat, chew gum or suck on a lollie to ease it.

Good luck with whatever you decide to take. Maxolon is classed a a category 'A' drug which is safe to use during pregnancy, but as always, you should consult your Dr.

Maxolon did nothing for me in my first pg. I'll second the acupuncture recommendation. I'd never had it before but it worked wonders. I was also on Zofran. It's not on the PBS so it's expensive and it only helped sometimes.

However I can't speak highly enough of acupuncture. It was the only thing that made me feel human.

It has started earlier and gotten worse with each of my pregnancies unfortunately. Last pregnancy, I was sick until 16weeks or so - Maxolon never completely made me better, but it did holt alot of the actual throwing up (nausea was still there though). I'm afraid of what this pregnancy will bring, I am already starting to feel nausious. Unfrotunately, there really isn't very much more available in the way of 'stronger' drugs, and what is available tends to be very expensive and many doctors will not perscribe anything other then maxolon.
