Hope you are feeling a little better, with my 1st i was sick the whole way through my pg from b4 i'd even confirmed my pg until i was admitted at 36wks with a nasty case of gastro on top. i used the blackmores morning sickness formula also and found that if i took it b4 i got out of bed i'd feel better than if i missed it but it was not a cure! this time around i used it for the first 12 wks or so but i am 100% better than last pg. I found that if i got hungry, thirsty tired or anything as such i would throw up so and feel rotten so i had to eat often and keep rested which is harder said than done. try to keep your fluids up as i was admitted and put on a drip to re-hydrate me. its not nice but well worth it in the end. good luck and i hope 4 your sake you feel better in a couple of weeks
I got morning (all day) sickness from week 6 to week 15 everyday many times a day(!!!) so I know how you feel you poor thing.
They say ginger is good, but as I HATE ginger and all things gingery!
Green Apples are awesome and Peppermint tea worked wonders for me!
I wish you all the best of luck and hope your feeling better before too long
I heard the dry crackers are the best trick! Also make sure you take a supp. I take Elevit which I think has higher level of nutrients but I think other brands do some other ones too. ;)
Hi all,
I'm going stir-crazy - I woke up this morning after just 4 days of M/S (which I am strangely pleased about experiencing) and I feel really good - no nausea at all. Not that I'm complaining about feeling good, especially after my M/S lasted ALL DAY, but I'm just starting to worry a bit. I have an u/s booked for Thursday.
How many of you have experienced this? I know it's different for everyone, but have most of you endured weeks and weeks of M/S without relief, or is it just as common to have a break between bouts of M/S?
I felt nauseous all day long until 14 weeks. Then it sort of disapeared. But everyone's different though, some didn't even get it at all. Hope yours went away for good ... All the best with everything!
Megsy - I would find my MS worse as the week went on... Monday's was a good day (don't get me wrong, was still very sick) because i had Saturday and Sunday to rest, and as i got through the week with work it would get worse and worse and i even mastered vomitting in the car whilst driving, to and from work! If your MS is over and done with - well thank your lucky stars... I lost 9kgs and got down to 44kgs from it all!

I completely hear you! It is silly that we worry about not being sick:p. I am the same way, My boobs had gotten smaller, still a bit sore but not as big as they were, and my all day constant nausea had settled. Last week it was bad on a few mornings only and better in the afternoon, but not completely gone. Last few days it has just been there, today hardly at all. I still feel a bit yuk at times, but not as bad as it was. I am kind of happy to feel somewhat human again, but still a bit worried.
I had a scan on Saturday at the local GP. The machine wasn't great, but I did see a heartbeat, and I measured the 'right' gestation. Despite the scan I am still a bit worried, but I don't think they can change anything, for me it just a matter of hoping and praying everything is ok.
If you are worried go see your Doc.

I am due end of March, Hopefully. THis is my first pregnancy so I am hoping I am 'lucky' that m/s has eased.
If you are worried go see your Doc. I just saw your sig so it may be worth getting it checked, even if just for peace of mind.
My first pregnancy I had all day, every day morning sickness from 6 weeks until he was born. I'm hoping and praying that this pregnancy will be different

Im sure everything is fine, everyone experiences their pregnancy in a different way. At the beginning of my pregnancy I had morning sickness 24/7, then one day (around 16 weeks) it just stopped completely! It was that bad at the time i was like catherine and had mastered vomiting in the car (TMI?? haha).
I am now 29 weeks and believe it or not, i am beginning to get it all over again!! although its not as bad, its definately still there!
Good luck for a H&H pregnancy.

HELP ME!! I need some MS relief.
Nothing is working ATM - I have been taking B6 - 50mg - DOES NOTHING.
Have been doing acupuncture, which was working a treat but now that has stopped working too! HELP!!
Has anyone tried sea-bands - those elastic bands worn on the wrist to put pressure on the acupressure points - and do they work?
TICKLISH
yes they do work!! But make sure they arent too tight like mine were!
They are a great cheap remedy. Also try some ginger tabs
good luck!
Ticklish - also make sure that you eat some small amounts (eg a piece of toast or just a cup of tea) especially in the morning as MS has been linked to low blood sugar levels. HTH.
I think the sea bands work too. I still did have ms but I'm pretty sure it was less when I was wearing them. I have used them for sea sickness too and they most definitely work for that.
I think they worked for me to some extent. Also try Ginger Refresh (a drink available from most supermarkets) - chemo patients use it to get rid of the nausea.
Good luck!
I haven't tried the seabands but have heard lots of positive stories from others. The ginger tablets (available from pharmacy) are working brilliantly for me a the moment.
Good luck!
i used ginger ale and dry crackers as my "remedy" worked wheni had chemo and just as good for MS... i founf the trick was keep your tummy full, liek nibble throughout te day and always sip drinks. i found fizzy gingerale worked best for me!! HTH good luck!!
MS is horrible, I still have it everyday and I'm 30wks. Nothing worked for me, I was prescribed drugs(Stemitil) but in the end refused to take them. The only thing that has worked for me personally is sipping cold powerade.
Hi, I tried the seabands for my first pregnancy....did nothing for my MS. Ginger made me feel worse. The only thing that helped were hot chips - especially KFC. Go figure! Didn't help my figure, but as I had it 24 hrs a day every day for the entire pregnancy, all I cared about was some relief :)
At least with this pregnancy I seem to have been spared :)
They didn't work for me :(
If I still have them I will let you know and I can post them to you if you like. No guarentees though... I might have been so mad that they didn't work I threw them out! PM me and let me know if u want me to have a look!
Thanks for your responses ladies and for your kind offer Daniellec. I have already purchased my Sea Bands.
Yes -they seem to be giving me some relief - even felt kinda normal yesterday but then I get really really nauseous again if I leave it too long to eat .

Hi everyone,
I have only just found out I am pregnant and everything feels like it is making me sick...I fancy something and then I can't finish it so I throw it out..if I can still smell it, it is awful!
I think I am only a few weeks pregnant ( I find out tonight how far along I am) and a close friend told me that it is too early to get morning sickness. Is this right? I feel sick on and off nearly the whole day and night.
This is the first time I have ever been pregnant so I am a bit confused..
Does anyone have any ideas about how to relieve the sickness?
Thanks...
hi stars69
i'm 5 & a bit weeks and i've been feeling sick 24/7 for nearly 2 weeks...
you can try an online calculator to figure out your due date and how many weeks?
good luck :)
jessie
Hi stars - it's definitely not to early to get M/S - it hits different people at different times. I think it is most common for it to kick in at around 6 weeks but plenty of lucky people get it before that. GL! I hope it doesn't get too much worse for you.
Thanks for your replies!
Working off the dr last night, I think I am nearly 6 weeks along...jessie so nearly the same as you. I guess that would put me with a delivery date between the last week of June and the first week of July 08.
I am have been feeling so sick for the last couple of weeks as well especially yesterday, that was the worst!
I got some tablets containg ginger last night from the pharmacy so I hope they help!
yay! so you're only a couple of days apart to me! :)
the morning sickness is the worst, although i'm feeling 20% better today...
a few things that have worked for me:
mum suggested a cup of tea with milk and those plain malt biccies? works really well 1st thing in the morning if you wake up feeling yuk. sounds gross, but i dip the biccies in my tea, and finish them, even if i can't drink all the tea, and it usually keeps the pukey feeling away for about an hour.
I'm also taking double fluids through the day, including peppermint teas, water, and a lemonade/ginger ale mix...(i hate ginger!)
i'm also trying the pregcell sachets by swisse. they are designed for M/S, but its basically B vitamns and ginger. tastes v average (on a sick tummy), and i struggle to have more than one. to be honest decaf tea with milk and biccies keeps me feeling well longer...
foods - i'm off zucchini - can't even look at it - lol finding that any 'wholesome' food makes me feel queasy... so i'm living off raisen toast w/ butter, eggs on wholegrain toast, saladas & grapes. Oh and because i can't look at raw foods atm, takeaway is getting a rave review... particularly pizza. not sure if pizza is ok with the ham? so i've been getting margeritas w mushrooms :D yum
lastly i'm taking elevit now the last 3 days... maybe thisis why i feel a lil better today? I also took one of the ladies advice on here, and i just graze all day... stops me feeling sick, and yes, saladas and grapes next to the bed, cos it helps when you wake up in the middle of the night
sorry for the rave - but hopefully something in here might work for you too?
Jessie
I'm feeling particularly queasy this morning :( Actually this is probably the worst I've felt it so far. Normally I just feel off randomly. But the things I eat to help keep the nausea away is saladas as well (same as Jessie) and nibbling on fruit, saladas and drinking lots of water through the day.
I am finding it hard to eat big cooked meals and prefer light meals more often.
Hi there,
I had horrible "morning sickness" for the first 6mths during my first pregnancy. From about week 7 til around 6mths.
Was absolutely awful I couldn't eat anything without bringing it right back up.
In the end I used to eat during the night. I would wake up in the middle of the night skull a glass of juice and try eat something then quickly go back to sleep before I hurled it all back up. Charming thought isn't it? :(
I would deem it as having about a 80% success rate though and I think that's what kept me out of hospital..
I tried every remedy I could get my hands on nothing worked. To this day I can't eat anything ginger or weet-bix. I am sure you can imagine why...
I lost 21kg while pregnant with my daughter and have just found out I am pregnant again with #2.
I am having slight panic attacks as I remember the dreadful way I felt for most of the pregnancy last time. I have had a few waves of nauseousness and I am hoping that I don't suffer with is as badly this time.
I am trying not to stress myself out with the thought but can't seem to relax every time I feel slightly nauseous I get stressed out thinking " Oh crap! here we go again!"
No idea how I am to manage a three yr old as well.... getting ahead of myself a bit I think as at the moment I don't feel too badly as long as I don't let myself get too hungry.
Finger crossed that I have a good go of it this time and can enjoy being pregnant.
I am about 7weeks pregnant and I can not recommend blackmores morning sickness formula strong enough.
It's basically only Vit B6 and ginger - but it has helped me. I still get butterflies in my tummy, but i no longer feel like i need to vomit.
Good Luck everyone :)
