Painful intercourse

I'm 12 weeks pregnant and I'm finding intercourse painful at present (and for last few weeks). I feel really raw and unlubricated. Wondering if the problem is in my head or related to hormones. Any ideas?

im pretty sure i experienced something simular when i was pregnant with my son and i read in one of those pregnancy that changing hormones during pregnancy can cause dryness but ... if you are worried i would ask a doctor good luck

Thanks for the reassurance...I'm happier thinking that I'm not going mad and it's something that will pass.

You could also have thrush which is very common in pregnancy, might be worth talking to your caregiver

Actually...I've been a bit slow on that one but did occur to me yesterday. I get thrush a lot anyway and so even more likely the culprit now. I am optimistic that is the issue.
