    Pilates anyone?

Just wanted to ask, is it okay to do Pilates during pregnancy? I've just started a class before I found out I was pg and the physio who runs it says it's fine and she will adapt things for me. I'm a little paranoid about doing everyhting right this time though, because even though I did everything right last pregnancy, my little girl still had probs when she was born. Has anyone else done pilates while pregnant?

I've done a Yoga and Pilates dvd alot this pregnancy and am doing a stretch class which has lots of yoga moves. SOunds like your instructor will adapt things and I would say go for it. Great for stretching out when you are feeling tight and sore hun.

I did pilates this pregnancy, I've stopped now as I'm just too exhausted!! The class was actually run by the hospitals physio department specifically for pregnancy, so as long as the instructor is aware of what you should and shouldn't be doing it should be fine. It is great as it focuses on strengthening/maintaining the pelvic floor and lower abdominal muscles.

You can do Pilates, but not all exercises are safe. Some places run special pg classes which are fantastic. If not, just make sure your instructor knows that you are pg and she should tailor the exercises to you.
