    Silly Question - Baths

    Hi all,
I know this is a really basic question but there is too much info out there and it's hard to know what you should and shouldn't do!!

So, my question is - I read in a book that you shouldn't have spas, but does the same theory apply to baths?

    Hi Kelgil

Baths should be fine, just make sure they're not too hot!
    Hope that helps

You can have a bath - you jsut have to watch the temperature, a warm bath is fine - hot is a no-no. Anything that raises your body temp basically is out! Good luck and enjoy your bath! I loved having one nearly every day when pg - gave my back such relief!!

baths are fine as long as you don't overheat nor dehydrate yourself. The theory with spas is that because the blood vessels of cervix are enlarged, there is a TINY chance the bubbles can go up the vagina and hit the cervix and a bubble could enter the blood stream (or so I read somewhere) which can be serious. To be safe, have baths only "warm" not too hot and if you are going to be in a while sip cool water. You can up the bath temp after about 14wks. (The theory there is that excess heat can damage the developing bub as it is at it's most fragile untill then). Goodluck honey. There is nothing I enjoy more, pg or not than a nice hot bath. But I just made sure it wasn't TOO hot when pg.

Thanks so much! It's great to have somewhere to go for this stuff - all the info you get can be a bit overwhelming at times!
I'll look forward to my warm bath tonight!!
