I am 5 weeks pg and have already got sinus problems. I had really bad sinusitis during my 1st pregnancy and it seems to have arrived already with this one
I was just wondering if anyone knows of anything that might help besides a saline spray? I am getting a small amount of relief from the saline, but not enough to get a decent nights sleep unfortunately!
"what to expect when you are expecting" offers suggestions like putting warm then cool compresses on your head. Maybe check the book out for other suggestions or google non-drug sinus treatments etc if you don't want to do the drug route
When my sinuses were so bad while bfing that I lost my sense of smell - even for dirty nappies! - a GP and pharmisicist both told me that the Brauers Sinus Relief spray was safe. It worked heaps better for me than the saline so it could be worth checking if it is safe while pg too (I think it is). Best of luck - I hope you find something that helps you.
LOL Melanie at not being able to smell nappies! At least mine went away after DD was born.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions - I think I'd rather keep it drug free for the moment, so I might try and pick up some Brauers in my travels tomorrow. Should be able to check with a pharmacist I guess?
