Don't get to post here too often thanks to work being really busy and being exhausted at the end of each day!! Anyway I'm just over 10 weeks along, and thanks to all the martyrs at my work who come in while sick, I now have a rotten cold! Have the lovely blocked nose and a throat that feels like its ful of razors.
So - does anyone have any suggestions on how to safely ease cold symptoms? Am so missing my sudafed etc that I normally take!!
I have had a bad cold for 3 days now. Blocked nose, coughing etc. And I've had absolutely no voice for 2 days!! (hubby is loving it!).
I've just taken panadol when my head hurts from coughing. Strepsils to ease the throat. And I had a homeopathic nasal spray to clear the nose occassionally. But tonight I discovered the LEMSIP satchets in my cupboard. Just woofed one of those down, and it feels better already. It's got paracetamol in it. I also have some Lemsip day/night tablets - and it has all 'natural' ingredients like zinc, echinaecha etc. But I haven't taken those. It normally says on a pack "do not take if pregnant" which this pack doesn't say... but I'm just trying to 'sweat it out'.... being a martyr mind you!!
Thank goodness I found this thread...
I'm hearing you ladies!
DD came home from daycare with a lovely cold 2 weeks ago and as per usual, for her to overcome it, she had to share it with someone...
Now, I have been fighting it for a week with nothing but Panadol...
Good to hear I can try something else to help me get some sleep!
The freezing cold nights here in Canberra without my electric blanket aren't really helping....
Bring on the Vicks...
Hope the cold leaves us all very soon!
Mrsr........do you mean the ones like Octravin? Of so, both my OB's have told me that they it is totally OK if used sparingly. (I would just use a single squirt at night so I could breath OK to sleep........).
The box does say "Only on the advice of a Dr". I trusted both my OB's and went ahead. and with absolutely no ill effects on my babies.......but I would check with your Dr.
