Trish - on second thoughts, AVOID the chocolate bullets. My goodness did I pay for it yesterday I was so full of wind (sorry, TMI) and uncomfortable all afternoon and couldn't sleep last night. Was horrid! I threw the rest in the bin this morning. Never again...
Willow - Oh you poor thing! I still want them, but after reading your post I'll make sure moderation is the key LOL! I hope you're feeling a bit better today
BG - I'll definitely get DH to try dim sims on the BBQ, he loves them steamed so I'm sure he'll love them BBQed!!
Mabello - I've never tried scambling eggs in the microwave! How long do you cook them for?
I love CombatQueen's suggestion! Are we allowed to eat Philadelphia cheese while pg?
I just had a decent serve of scalloped potatoes from last nights dinner - yummo!!!
I'm pretty peckish now too (6 weeks today) but I've always been a good eater. I'm addited to fruit at the moment so I have a least a couple of pieces each day. I have dry biscuits and rice crackers in my draw at work. I love tuna too so if I don't have it with lunch, I have a small tin as a snack. I'm going to give popcorn a go soon - thanks for the tips girls!
Trish, to answer your cheese question, we are allowed to eat Philadelphia Cream Cheese during pregnancy. I asked my pre and post-natal nutritionist and she gave me the OK a while back (I just love it on fresh bread!). Obviously you need to follow the other rules i.e. use it within a day etc. You can buy the little mini-tubs which are really good as they are separate single/double portions. Enjoy
i really shouldn't have looked in this thread - i'm starving now & i NEED popcorn
i've been trying to snack on healthy-ish things like almonds and cashews, muesli bars (the healthier types) but i've also been indulging on caramello koalas, crumpets, toasted muffins and have had to stop buying corn chips since my nachos frenzy. since it's been warmer, frosty fruits have been going down well
I just had crackers with tuna and mayo mashed up - that was good
I need to clarify this cream cheese thing with my ob, I"m dying here. I was previously told it was OK but in the info he sends out at the start it says no
Have also had watermelon today - is that OK Trish or still too acidic??
Willow - I haven't had watermelon in ages (the boys eat it all the time though), I really just steer clear of all fruit to be on the safe side. Yum, tuna and mayo on crackers sounds so yummy! Will definitely give that one a whirl. I feel like such an eating machine!
sloane - Oooh I really want a Caramello Koala now!
Sambo - Thanks for the Philly info!
Taurean - I made scalloped potatoes last night too LOL! I was going to have them for left-overs for lunch, but then my sister dropped by so we had pancakes instead mmmm....
if you're into fruity icy poles, scope out the Berri Quelch tubes - they have awesome flavours - pineapple and passionfruit, watermelon and raspberry, peach and pear, strawberry and blueberry - they're in the tubes - and they have been my saviour on many an occassion!
if you're finding you need to snack regularly, avoid watermelon - it is very high in natural sugar and you'll have a high but then drop really low really quick and feel hungry and sick again...
This thread is great Trish! Think I'll be visiting here often to get new ideas!
I'm off to get me some frosty fruits tomorrow - forgot about them!
With the tuna I think there is a limit to how much you should eat within a week? I'll double check the info I got from my OB and let you know. I think its due to mercury levels but not 100% sure. I'm sure a small tin or two a week would be fine though.
I was told Philly is fine!
BG - I agree with the watermelon. I love but anything too sweet is making me feel sick and I find I'm hungry again pretty soon. Although having said that I had some jelly today and that hit the spot! Red jelly too, yummo!
