Hi All
I dont remember being this tired when I was preg with DS... I know it is probably not anything to be concerned about but after some reassurance..
it hits me around 1030am - total exhaustion, to the pt I have had a nap the last few days and I never do this. if i didnt have to work or didnt have DS i could stay in bed ALL day.
is this normal? anything i can do about it? when will it pass?
It is terrible to have your body take over isn't it!!! I found that I had this type of tiredness when pregnant with DD2. Honestly I could barely stay awake and I can remember drifting to sleep (and drooling) on the couch whilst DD played. I felt so bad but I could not help it. Unfortunately you can't do too much about it, but try and get a good nights sleep and try and nap when DS naps. Fortunately it does pass. I found mine lasted until around 14ws and then I had so much energy I didn't know what to do with it.
BTW the tiredness thing has started for me too....

thanks honey - it is good to know it will pass.... i havebeen sleeping ok at night (though weirdly it is less bad in the evening) and when I have DS home I sleep when he sleeps... am finding work really hard though (just cancelled a trip for today and tomorrow but i cant always do that) - i just have NO energy at all during the day... oh well it is all worth it and i know it will pass - cant wait for that 2nd trimester energy surge!!!
Can't believe I spelt drool incorrectly....The tiredness is hitting me around 9am and staying till the evening, then I can't sleep!!!! Yes bring on second trimester I say
Hi there, I am just starting to get to the point where I am not relying on a day sleep everyday. I do try and have a sleep when DS does... but at least having a lay down when he's in bed.
It feels so much harder this time! I dont remember being this tired , and last pregnancy I was still working. How did I do it?
I am still suffering pretty badly from m/s aswell, but it's much the same as last pregnancy.Just harder when theres a little one to run around after. I hope you are feeling better soon.
i WAS extremely tired. sleeping 2-3 hrs in the day and 9 hrs at night. I never was this bad with my first two. But now it seems that insomnia is the new thing. awake til 1am and wide awake again at 7am... i would rather be sleepy!
I was so exhausted in the first trimester, I would almost be vomiting from tiredness by the time I got home from work and started running around after a toddler. With my first pregnancy I could just come home and crash on the couch so it wasn't so bad!
It got ok again after about 10 weeks but the tiredness has now come back with a vengeance as I can't sleep properly at night or get comfortable
I'm lucky at the moment because i was unemployed when i found out i was pregnant, and just about to accept another job. And now my DP doesn't want me to work while pregnant so i turned down the job offer.
So i'm at home all day, and as boring as it is, i'm glad i am cause i get to sleep as much i want.
But on Saturday my partners little 3yr old girl a.k.a "cylcone paige" is coming over from her mothers where she lives to stay with us for three weeks.
And as i'm home all day, guess who's looking after her while partner sleeps (he works a 14hr graveyard shift everynight)
So while sleeping all day has been good so far, i'm gonna have to kiss it goodbye.
p.s. has anyone had problems with sleeping at night, while having none during the day????
I can totally sympathise with you, I am 9 wks pregnant and have been exhausted from day 1. I have also recently been to see my Dr who says I have Sciatica (just my luck), I too hve been at home during the day and b/c of the pain find it very difficult to sleep at all (day or night). My only suggestion is try to nap as much as you can and stay well nourished to maintain some form of energy.
I am sooooo tired and I wasn't this way with DS. I was energized.
I can barely get out of my own way!!!
I couldn't even be bothered going to work today (prolly tomorrow too - stuff going on at work that has drained any energy I might have had left). DS does have gastro though, so he needs his mummy.
I wasn't tired when I have my m/c - I wasn't even sick - so I'm taking how I feel at the moment as a VERY good sign, as painful as it is!!
hi all
i must say i am feeling a lot better these days... still tired more than normal and in bed by 9pm every night but not that debilitating fatigue as it was earlier...
i hope my energy just increases now!!
i also had ms for a few weeks there and that is a lot better now...
YAY!
I have never been so exhausted....I am around 11 weeks now & still could sleep all day (since about week 5). Night times I sleep but wake up about 5 or 6 times a night.
I spent some time off work with m/s & slept all day and night. Now I have to come home from work at lunchtime because of tiredness & m/s. I can't wait to get some energy back!
