Hi, i live in the UK, but cannot find a good forum for the discussion of Clexane use in pregnancy, but ive seen quite a few on this site.
I am currently 5 weeks pregnant, this is my 3rd pregnancy after suffering two losses due to sticky blood syndrome.
I am injecting clexane twice a day, and suffering quite a bit with bruising etc, was hoping to pick up some tips on reducing the amount of large bruises.
Hi Graces Mommy & welcome to Belly Belly
Congratulations on your pregnancy & I am so sorry for the babies that flew away.
I injected Clexane with 2 previous pregnancies. I stopped with one pregnancy due to a reaction that was thought to be not with the drug but with the carrier. I used an alternative form of low molecular weight heparin successfully with my last pregnancy.
There really is not a lot that can be done about the bruising. My belly was black & blue. Rotate your injection sites. Ensure that after you have completed injecting don't withdraw the needle immediately to ensure all the drug is released under your skin. Gently press until bleeding stops after your withdraw the needle.
You will get better as you go along. I am sure there is another point I've missed & I will come back when I remember!
Hi gracesmommy81,
I am so sorry to read about your angel babies. Congratulations on your pregnancy. I know very well that it is going to be a long and emotional journey.
I am currently using clexane for the second time. It was a miracle drug for me in my last pregnancy. I had a healthy baby boy after 2 very late losses.
The injections get easier. I had huge hand sized bruises when I first started. I now bruise very little if at all. It is very important to rotate injection sites. Inject at a slight angle and make sure that you do not insert the needle too deep.
I am here if you have any questions. I am also in the pregnancy after late loss forum. I saw that you posted there once. It is a great place for support.
