What was the first "baby" thing you bought when you found out you were pregnant?

    Hi all,

I have just found out I am pregnant due July 3rd with our first baby! I am super excited! Just wondering how everyone else started their baby planning? When did you start collecting baby stuff and what was the first thing you bought? I want to start now but I know anything can happen at this stage (4 weeks + 5 days) ...

I bought one little thing per week
My first purchase was a 2 pack of bamboo socks I still smile when I put them on DDs feet now!

DH went a little crazy and came home with literally a bag full of Bonds wonder suits. I bought a sweet matrushka doll fabric rattle.

Oh but I HAVE started a "dear baby" journal
It has always been my plan to write my children their own story and record my memories of them as I go. I have one for DSD and have written in that as well. She doesn't know it exists and my plan is to give it to her when she is an adult....was originally thinking 18 or 21... But I might do it at the birth of their first child?? Don't know... I just think it would be so nice to have"lletters from my mother". It may also incorporate photos and scrap booking stuff

I've done a pg journal for each if mine, although with this baby I didn't start until 20 weeks! Oops!
Mine turned into more of a journal of my life though so I'm not sure if the kids will want to read it...I will still give it to them, but it's pretty intense with thoughts about changes to my body and my life.

I bought each of mine nappies and a cute outfit. Although again this baby hasn't got anything yet!! It's coming!

This is going to sound really bad but I can't remember!
But I do remember DH coming home the day after we found out with the most gorgeous teddy bear.

Not me (cos I was so anxious I wouldn't let DH or myself buy anything until 20+weeks) but just after I told my mum she bought me a cute little pair of socks with bumblebees embroidered on them. I still have them in DD1's box.

    ETA COngratulations!!

Kim I do have that anxiety that something could go wrong but I just can't help myself, I have this deep down urge to prepare because I am finally pregnant and there is this little person that really exists!! :-) Sooo, today I bought a baby journal and a car sun protection screen! Lol! Very unisex!!

We bought a cot, painted it, then got people to look in our spare room to tell them we were expecting. I didn't buy much else until I was quite far along!

DH and I picked up a little onesie when I was around 12 weeks but then waited for most other things till after we found out the sex. Be warned, once you start buying its so hard to stop . The larger items we got after around 26weeks but that was just because I was always super paranoid.

With DD as soon as I had the u/s at 7 weeks & saw her HB I went out & spent $50-60 on onesies & singlets. This time around I started buying & stashing mcn's two months before we were even TTC lol. As soon as we knew baby was a girl I went & brought two outfits
