Question Anyone know anything about HCG levels?

Hi there friendly people! I'm new here!

I'm also newly pregnant -YAY! - but I seem to be going from one concern to another - I'm getting so stressed out about my bean! Good news is: I have seen beanie flickering on an ultrasound. One concern is: my impeccable dates have me at 7.5 weeks pregnant, but ultrasound says I'm 6. More worrying for me is these HCG readings (taken irregularly I'm afraid):

    22 April 2300
    24 April 8012
    28 April 9300
    5 May 26320

As you can see they are not doubling right? (...possibly...every 6-7 DAYS?!!) HELP!? What do you think?

    Cheyne xx

Update: i went for the repeat ultrasound scan i had insisted upon today. They told me that the baby's heart is still beating but the pregnancy has failed. The baby has not grown and is behind dates by 3 weeks. The heart beat is very slow. The gestational sac and placenta have continued to grow - causing my hcg levels to rise and maintain the pregnancy - but as soon as the heart has stopped beating my body will recognize that the pregnancy has failed and i will miscarry. They cannot say when this will be - it could be hours. It could be weeks. I am due back for a scan next week to see if the heart has stopped, and if it has they will offer me a d&c, tablets, or the option of letting nature take its course. If not. I don't know. My little baby is still alive in me and his heart is, very slowly, beating. Is there any hope? They don't think so. But is there?
Thankyou so much for all your kind messages and support. They made all the difference and so I haven't felt alone in this. All my best wishes and babydust to you and your little ones xxx

    Hello and Welcome to BB.

Your numbers are looking good. They do double in the early days but then they start to slow down so try not to stress to much.

As far as your dates go, do you chart? Maybe you ovulated later than you think and therefore you wouldn't be as far along as suspected or if you use your LMP date.
My cycles are 48 days and I do not ovulate until about day 28 so my dates would be 2 weeks off if I used my LMP date instead of when I ovulated, do you know what I mean?

How did the ultrasound go, 6 weeks is still early but were they able to see a HB?

I know that it is hard not to stress... but really the HCG looks good and dates can vary slightly.

Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months.

    Hi and welcome!!
When it comes to assessing dates, the earlier the ultrasound the more reliable and accurate it is esp. at 6 weeks. and they do normally take it as it.
in saying that if you say you deff. know when your last known menstral period is then they take your word for it...but remember, the calculation they do based on your LKMP is based on a 28 day cycle, and like DaintreeDream said, not eveeryone has this cycle.
the way the cycle works...is EVERYONE ovulates 2 weeks before their menstral cycle...if you have a longer cycle, its the TWW ('2 week wait') period that is longer, or if you have a shorter cycle this time is shorter.
just means you add extra days or subtract extra days on the little formula. I have the formula and alterations somewhere in my pile of uni mess next to me, if you wanted me to get it out =)
All the best and good luck!!
wishing you a happy and healthy preg!!!!!
