Hi everybody,
Just wanted to know what the hell is going on with my body. I am 7 w 1 d (according to an ultrasound dating so that would make me 9 weeks from my last period)For the last two days running I have had two occassions of bright red streaking I guess would be the term in mucousy discharge. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow but I am terrified about what he will say. I had brownish discharge with my last pregnancy most of the way through and it turned out to be a 10lbs 3 girl lol so I am hoping for the best. ANyway back to the streaking... it seems to come and go... varying between dark brownish to bright red in the mucous to nothing at all. I am driving my partner insane because I cant sleep for the worrying and then I am useless for the day because I am so tired. Any comments or reassurance would be great!
Hi Nicole,
My friend bled pretty much every day between about 6 and 15 weeks. She is about 20 weeks now and baby is fine. The doctor told her that it can just happen without any cause.
I am wishing you the best of luck for tomorrow and hope everything is ok.
Hi Nicole
It is quite common to have a very small bleed early in your pregnancy. Providing that it only lasts for a day or two, it is very light, only happens a couple of times, you have no cramping. Then there is nothing to worry about. Try to think about what you were doing for the 24 hours before the red discharge. This ort of bleeding can be caused by many things including sex, vigorous exercise, heavy lifting, heavy physical work. And most of the time we have no idea what causes the small bleed but it coul be cause by the increase blood supply to your vagina and surrounding tissues.
Hi everybody,
Well I saw the doctor yesterday and he was a tad concerned so he sent me for another ultrasound. I prepared myself for the worse but when I got in there, there was my little pregnancy sac. Nothing could be seen inside so the lovely lady that was doing the ultrasound decided to do a transvaginal and there was my little peanut with a heart rate of 131 bpm. I have never heard a sound more wonderful. The doctor also did a blood test and I will find out tomorrow how much my hcg has gone up. I know it has risen but by how much I am unsure. And then today the same thing happened again, bright red streaks in the mucuos. Here I was thinking it was going to be ok. The only thing I can put it down to is being constipated... and the piles that have never quite left since having my daughter. Im hoping the doctor says everything is fine. He gave me suppositories (eww) and hopefully that will work
Nicole, I hope that everything continues to be great! I know what you mean about hearing the heartbeat... I was like that every time I went to the doc or midwife visit, hearing the most beautiful sound in the world does wonders for your mind!
It would seem that we are close in gestation. I hope hope hope all goes well for you!
I had a discharge for the entire pregnancy with my daughter and freaked every time i went to the loo, and i had my girl at 36.5 weeks. it didn't go smoothly for me, but that was caused by a totally different thing altogether.
please try to stay calm, and i really hope that all goes well for you and bub!
I just got back from the doctors and he read through the ultrasound report and he has put the slight bleed down to the placenta implanting. He isnt worried about the brownish discharge as it is light and I had it with my last pregnancy. My hcg level had risen and I had calculated that it should have been around 14000 if it had doubled every 48 hours since my last test. It was 57668. I nearly choked lol. My doctor said that with numbers like that it seems to be a strong and viable pregnancy so hopefully things will continue to improve.
