Red face Curious if you had any signs before u felt water break?

Hi I'm 38 weeks preggo & was just wondering if any of you second time mums had feelings/cramps/plug show etc before waters broke, or did it just happen completely random with zero warning?

Thanks heaps I love learning about this whole experience as I go! I hope everyone is feeling fabulous x

Both times I had zero warning No braxton hicks, show, nothing! My waters broke at 38+5 with DS1, it was about 1am (I think) and I was sitting on the lounge reading because I couldn't sleep. They broke at 38+4 with DS2, about 11pm (I think, my memory is failing me lol) and I was asleep in bed and the familiar "pop, gush" sensation woke me up!

the only warning I had was the very very sudden urgent need to urinate. Just as I sat on the loo (and I'd run the three steps from bed to loo), I had an almightly gush.

I had some period pain type cramps several days before, thought I was in labour as it came and went regularly for a whole day. Then it came to a sudden stop...5 days later I was just laying in bed when I had this feeling something was going to happen, jumped out of bed and my waters broke!

No warning for DS1, 21 years ago now I went for my 39 week check the doctor did a VE (it was 'routine' back then) She said I was already about 1.5cm dilated then she said oops! Swore she didn't do it on purpose and as she (TMI) removed her fingers it was Niagara falls over the side of the exam bed.

DS2 I had a show the day before then started with a slow leak the next afternoon.

DS3 No warning got up and went for my morning wee and as I was sitting there I heard a loud POP! Felt it too and that was it, not quite Niagera falls again but then soaked a few pads before tapering off a bit.

I had SROM with both my girls. With DD1 it took me completely by surprise. I felt and heard the pop and leaped out of bed to the ensuite floor just in time

With DD2 I had a sweep three days before she was born and had a bit of blood that day but that was to be expected. I had a tiny bit more blood loss the next day plus a bit of my plug then I lost lots of plug the following morning (the day she was born) and my waters broke early that arvo. I was vacuuming when it happened and felt fine, no pain or warning as such. Just the 'pop' and 'gush' again

The only one of mine that broke before contractions started was DD1 & I lost plug the night before. All the others it broke, or were broken during labour. I did actually feel it once though. With DS I felt a wierd pop kinda sensation.
