    Question Another maternity bra question

Much to my dismay, my breasts don't seem to be getting any bigger with my pregnancy. They might have grown a tiny bit, but basically they're their good old 'B' cup. Has this happened to anyone else? Everyone else seems to get great preg boobs, I was really looking forward to them.

Because they don't seem to have changed much, I haven't done anything about getting fitted for a maternity bra. I have just kept wearing my old underwire bras.

But I was just reading in another thread that underwire bras are really bad during pregnancy, I don't want to contribute to possible b/f problems.

So do I need to go and get some new bras, even though my breasts are still pretty much the same size, and don't really need much support anyway?

Can you get mat bras with a bit of padding? I don't want to look even smaller than I already am when I'm supposed to be bigger!

    Thanks!

You can still get contour maternity bras!! They're a bit more shapely and have a bit of padding.

Thanks SJ, 'contour' sounds good. I think I'd better bite the bullet and get onto it. Don't like bra shopping much.

I still fit into my old bras until I hit 30 weeks. Then I went from a D cup to an E.

I had never been properly fitted with a bra....until i was pregnant with DD#3 and i decided to get some new mat. bras. The sales lady (myer) was sooo helpful - i had my sizing all wrong, she was a great adviser - something i would highly recommend....

    Good Luck.

Devon, it is a good idea to be fitted. You should also look at another fitting near the end for when your milk comes in - you sure will be bigger then, although (sadly?) that won't last long. Your supply usually settles within 3 months so your breasts should be about the same size as during pg after that.

Hey Devon, my friend was a A cup and now after having her lil boy (and she didnt breastfeed for very long at all..... like a week) shes now a D cup.
Everyone is dif, your breats may not grow until later in your preg or when you get your milk, they may not even grow at all.
I went from a C with DD#1 to a D and im not preg with DD#2 and i had my bras fitted last week, they are an E now. I would much rather my C cup again

    Hi,
Just read this thread about bras. Is it safe to wear your normal/usual underwire bras in the first trimester?
    Thanks,

I'm a C as well but usually a B when not pregnant/breastfeeding. I would highly recommend the HotMilk bras, they give you awesome cleavage!! So many people (friends & family, not random strangers!) have commented on my *huge* boobs when wearing them LOL!

Cindy- it is perfectly safe to wear an underwire bra. I did up until i was 32 weeks, would have got fitted for a maternity bra earlier but didnt have the money or time and they have kept growing, i've gone from a D cup to and E cup in the last 7 months.

This is something i'll have to do very, very soon i think. I'm a D cup before pregnancy,i'm 9 weeks tomorrow & i've already had to lengthen my straps to the very end & clasp the hooks on the last set.

I really can't see myself fitting in them comfortably for much longer. I didn't expect to have to get new bras so soon. I really hate shopping for bras, don't know why, just do.

I was a 14 DD before pregnancy and have been fitted twice in the past week, once at Bras n things (18DD) and then at Myer (16E) and i ended up walking out of Myer with a 14G Triumph bra from Myer. It was $70 but i got 25% off and the girl at Myer was super helpful and called around to 3 different stores to try and get me a different colour.

I can't believe how different the fitting measurements are to when you actually try the bra on. Bras n things didn't have any large sizes in the store that i visited but i knew straight away that there was no way i was a size 18. I'm very small across the back but large in the cup.
