    Red face antacids???

    hello...i have been taking gaviscon antacid occasionally but read that sodium bicarbonate is not good to take...what is the best antacid to take that is safe?

    Mylanta is fine, as are Rennie tabs and Quick eze.

    The hospital told us Mylanta, but also gave us the chewable quik-ese (the berry one) in a sample bag at the antenatal class

    yeah it is yuk!!!
    i was taking gaviscon but i think mylanta may be the way to go now....???
    whenever i seem to ask the chemist about tablets during pregnancy they all say different things...??? gets so confusing...

    I couldnt stand the gaviscon, made me sick. But the mylanta everescent is good, I used that when Im at home & the quick-eze chewables (berry) when Im out coz its more convenient

    I have been using tums and there great and taste alright too. They had a sign up in the shop saying good for pregnancy so i thought ild try them there real good. especially for wind

    Healthfirst here in Canberra say no to Mylanta because it contains aluminium - depends on how much and how often I think you take it.

    However, my GP said ok if I only need it once every couple of days.

    I find quickeze tabs good for fast relief - and avoid tomato based foods for dinner - and spicy foods ...
