    Question Anterior (sp?) Placenta??

I was just reading back in my VMR book what my OB wrote on Monday and she has noted the my placenta is Anterior - I remeber her telling the med student that was there that it was anterior - but I assumed that if that was a problem that she would have said somehing to me?

What does it mean that my Placenta is Anteror? Is it going to be a problem??
I would Google it but Im to scared!!

    Cheers

it means its at the front not the back (posterior).
Mine was anterior wth DS. it cna sometimes mean you dont feel movememnts as strongly as if it were posterior, but not always.
    Its not a problem.

    Thanks RayRay & Hollye!
Thats good to know! And I guess that why the student had trouble finding where the back was lying - but good news was that bubs was head down! He/She has been head up for a couple of weeks now but I know there it pleanty of time for spinning!
    Thanks ladies!

My placenta was anterior (on the front wall) with DD, did not cause any problems. However I never felt her kick as her little legs were hiding behind it, I could see on the US that she was kicking but I could not feel it I did feel her wiggle her bum and headbutt me in the ribs however (she was breech), it was a big relief to me to know that was the reason for not feeling her kick.

Have you been feeling your little bubba kick much? It doesn't affect everyones ability to feel their bubba kicking, it depends on the position.

It is nothing to worry yourself about though.

Matildas Mum - I have been feeling heaps of kicks and even more he/she wiggling around and I can always see my tummy buldging here then there when bub is on the move. The kicks I get are quite strong at some stages but manly just normal strength - I have not had the really painfull kicks that ppl talk about in the 3rd tri - maybe that could be why?
I certainly know when bub is bouncng on my bladder tho!!
    Thanks again.

I had an Anterior placenta with DS1 and a Posterior placenta with DS2.
The only difference was I felt DS2's kicks at around 14/15wks, where as with DS1 first kicks were around 23wks.

I hope the rest of your pg goes great.
