    anxiety about health of baby

Hi, i am 31 weeks pregnant with my second baby. in the past couple of weeks i keep having these little panic attacks wherein i think there is something wrong with bub eg downs etc etc. ive had the NT scan and it came back with low risk. but i still cant get it out of my head theres got to be something wrong. my main thinking is because i have been so lucky to have a healthy DS the first time, this time surely i wont be as lucky. also bubs has measured small all along, in the 25th percantile, and ive convinced myself thats because something is wrong, even thou ive been told she is just small and nothing is wrong.

sounds crazy i know, i am normally a rational calm person. is it the hormones do you think? has anyone else had these thoughts, particulary in a second or more pregnancy? the first time around i had no thoughts like this at all. everytime i go for a midwife appoint i want to say something, but it just makes me sound so paranoid and silly i cant bring myself to say anything to anyone!

i hate feeling this anxious, its driving me crazy!!!

To help put you at ease, my son was sitting in the 90 - 95th percentile throughout my entire pregnancy. Today, at just over 2 weeks old he is in the 25 - 30th percentile!! So try not to stress, for yours and your bubs sake .

I felt it a huge responsibility being pg. I wanted to make sure I 'baked bubs' right - something which no one else could do for me, if something went wrong it'd be my fault etc. Not to mention the hormones flowing around your body. It could be a combination of everything! Sometimes the more you research something it can help to worry you, when it's not even warranted.

But of course your worried, it's your little bubba you have in there. You are human!

Hugs sweets this is very normal to feel this way. I have just had bub number 3 and I think my anxiety was the worst with this one. I remember being anxious with number 2 as well. I guess with first bubs most people are a little naive as to what can go wrong etc. Additionally once you've had a bub and bonded with it you know the pain of lossing a child/baby is just so inconceivable and therefore your fear is heightened with subsequent pregnancies.

If your anxiety is taking hold please seek some advice from your midwife or careprovider

It is normal to worry about your child. Just don't let it overwhelm you though. If you feel you are to anxious talk to your Dr. You should be enjoying this time.
