ok so, i have 3 little girls Kayla (6) Paige (2) and Zoe (7mths)
i did a HPT on the 28.2 and it came back positive (after doin one that was Neg. at the dr's on the 24.2)
and the tests had been getting darker
i was having some VERY light brown spotting but that has gone now...
no cramping or anything (other than the norm)
so i went to my dr on the 3.3 after having a DARK first response test and the test he did was pretty light,
so he ordered me a Quantitative Beta HCG test i got it done that day...
got my results back on the 4.3 (well i didnt get the numbers) that said under 3weeks pregnant and there was a note on my file saying Dr wanted to talk to me, i spoke to him in the evening he said my HCG level was 48....
i think i ovulated on approx 16.2 so i would have to be at least 4weeks....so is 48 too low???
i have another blood draw for today (6.3) to see if my numbers have doubled...
at the moment im not feeling very positive about this whole thing *cries*
i keep going to the loo expecting to see blood....
=o(
when i woke up this morning at 7am there was some light brown creamy CM when i wiped, but now at 10am it is gone....
any one been through anything similar?
any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated
Brown coloured spotting and CM is old blood. Fresh is a bright red so its not something that is happening now.
There are some people that have had low levels at the beginning and have gone on to term and had healthy bebes. Try not to let yourself stress too much. So far there is no real solid indicator that your baby is in any trouble.
The range that Melbourne pathology use for quantitative hcg are:
3-4 weeks: 9-130
4-5 weeks: 75-2600
If you are only just at 4 weeks then while the level is technically a little low, I definitely wouldn't lose hope as hcg levels can vary by a huge amount. Also, if implantation happened later than usual then bubs may not have had enough time to make lots of hcg yet. I won't tell you not to stress (because I know how impossible that is), but think positively that you test today will reveal a much higher level for you. You can always ask your doctor or the nurse taking your blood to mark the test as urgent so you can get the results back faster. I explained how stressed I was to the nurse taking my blood one time and she put the urgent sticker on the test and I had the hcg level back within a few hours.
Honey, my levels were very low. And they didnt double in 48 or even 72 hours. I also had spotting at first and then later heavy red bleeding with clots! But all was still fine with my bub.
Try to stay calm, I know its hard. The next few weeks will probably see you become a 'compulsive toilet paper checker'. But try to keep positive. The waiting game is so hard. Thinking of you mate.
