    Anyone ever had steroids??

    Hey everyone.

Just wondering whether or not anyone here has had to have steroids in preparation for early delivery??

Looking at delivering little bubs in about 4 weeks (when I'll be 32 weeks), so I had to have steroids. They hurt alot!!! lol

Also, have you ever had to have more than one course of steroids??
I've had one course (one injection, and another injection 24 hours later)

I'm a bit worried that I'll have to have another course in 2 weeks.

    Thanks!

I did with DD. I was nearly 36 weeks though. I had one lot and then 24hrs later another. I agree it did hurt. It hurt more then all the other bits and peices I was hooked up to lol.. I hope everything goes smoothly for you

I have had them for both my PG, DS1 being a threatened pre-term labour at 32 weeks, delivered at 34 weeks, baby's lungs were fine.
DS2 I was given them at 30 weeks, due to history, he was delivered at 38 wks.
It is a course of 2x injections 24 hrs apart, make sure it is done 24 hrs apart, if you forget there could be a chance you might need a second course.

I had the double dose at 32 weeks (24 hours appart) because we didn't think were were going to be able to stop the contractions, then had a top up dose at 35 weeks and delivered less than 48 hours later and she really needed them, was a CS and we only just avoided a transfer to NICU. Yet our 33 weeker didn't get them and actually coped better but it was a VB.

I can recommend to relax and wiggle your toes the whole time it really does help

Good luck hun, can I ask why they are delivering early?
    Take care xxoo
