Anyone give me an opinion about my baby?

I just had my first ultrasound and according to my last AF dat I was 7wks today. As I have longer cycles anyway I expected to have a new EDD. But I was given a GA of 4wk5d. I got my first HPT BFP on 3rd July, that would mean I was 2wks pg when I got my BFP. And isn't it said that at the time of conception you are already 2wks pg? which would mean I got a BFP just after conception. Does all this seem unlikely to you too? I don't doubt the sonagrapher is correct with her dates and sizing but what concerns me is that Bubbles isn't growing. I'm worried maybe Bubbles has stopped growing. What do you think? and if this is the case how and when will I know? I still have a BT to do but I have to wait for the results and am driving myself crazy! Oh the sonographer got a yolk sac too so I know thats good but all the dates just don't match! Any opinions? Whatever they are?

sometimes the scan dates can be off, esp if the scan is done before 6wks. I had a scan with DS at 7wks and it came back 5wk2d same as you saw the egg sack. Went back 3wks later and bub was measuring 9wks something. By 20 wks he was 2 wks ahead? I know its hard not to worry but do try.

If you were charting and know when you O'd then be confident about your bubs EDD. If you have longer cycles then your OB may just take a week off the start of your cycle to make you "normal" as everyone wants to know the date of your LMP and it's easier to do that than to tell computers your cycle is 35 days (well that's what they did with me anyway )

I've had EDD's moved about, brought forward and then moved back at later scans. It's a bit annoying especially if you need to plan DH's leave for the birth in advance.

They will give you a more solid date at the 17 week u/s.

Hey Becstar,

If it were me because I'm a worry wart, I would ask for another scan in a week or two time, I'd expect that your dr would like to do one anyway just to check growth and progress and find a heart beat as it would have been too early for you to see one just yet (?). I would also request HCG bt's to check that the levels are rising.

Oh, also, the earlier scans are more accurate in regards to EDD, the ones before 12 weeks. The mid term ones aren't totally accurate for EDDs as gene's start coming into it (big baby, small baby) I took my 5 week scan EDD with this last baby as my EDD and I went into labour that day, so it was spot on. My 20 week and later scans showed I was due 2 weeks earlier than that, but that's because I had a large baby.

I had the exact same thing this pregnancy!!! I went for a scan at 7w 4 d and the Us showed a baby at barely 5w 2d. I to was thinking whats going on? Good news is that I went for a scan 3 weeks later at 8w 2d and I was actually 10w 5d

the baby was simply to small to see at the first scan,.. Good Luck,.. I hope you have another scan booked even if just for reassurance

Thanks guys! I'm glad to hear some of you have had the same thing. My main concern was as Tara said that I knew babies all grew at the same pace at this stage. It's the later scans that be be wrong due to different growth rates. With DS and DD they were both born spot on thier first scan EDD. That is what bothers me, if I really am only 4w5d then I don't understand how I could have got a BFP so early. But like Nic said, it happens. So I'm just gonna go with that Going to get my BT done in the morning, and when I see my Dr. I'll ask for another scan. Thanks so much, I have never freaked like this before but this pg was hard to come by........

I was freaked out as well.. I was convinvced this pregnancy had ended... Definitly ask for another scan... Good Luck let us know how you go

ps did they see a HB at all? The scanner said she thought she could see a flicker but simply wasn't convinced enough. even though on my results it said there was a HB of 123bpm

My EDD chagnes every time I go to the doctor or have a scan, it's quite annoying actually. I've been given due dates of Nov 6, 12, 13, 14, 16, and 18. I alwasy know exactly how far along I am at the U/s and the dates they calculate have never been right. The earlier ones were a bit behind and the last one was a few weeks ahead!
