    Baby Monitors

    Hi everyone,
I am 6 months pregnant at the moment and looking at buying a baby monitor for when bubs arrives. I have been doing so much research into which ones are the best and now totally confused! Does anyone have any reccommendations for which brand they use and how they find them?
    Thanks

We bought the oricom secure 500 its quite good - bit fangle dangle, it was hubbys decision really - I let him pick it.

We both looked at the angelcare sound and movement monitor, but decided against it due to the reviews about the movement pad going off all the time. Even our hossy said that is a known problem.

We too have the Angelcare Sound & Movement monitor. We've had it since DD1 was a baby (so since 2006). Never had any issues with it, love it

AngelCare Fan here too. We got ours as a gift and it has been great. We haven't had any false alarms with it, just when forgetting to turn it off when we took DD out of the cot!!

I let DH pick all ours (for DS and DD) because of potential interference with cordless phones etc and we had a 2 storey house and couldn't be bothered unplugging monitors every morning and night and so also had one for upstairs and downstairs.

We have an Angelcare which has been good (we removed the motion sensors though because they kept going off unnecessarily) but the Oricom one has the best range and least interference, not as pretty looking though. The Tomy one was also excellent. The Childcare one was rubbish.

    So in order of preference

    Oricom
    Tomy
    Angelcare
    Childcare

I have the oricom 500 too and I love it dd2's room gets colder than the rest of the house and it sounds an alarm if it gets too low, it also let's you talk and play nursery rhymes without having to go into the room

Thanks for all the responses, I will look into it further and hopefully pick the right one!
